There are several things you can do to extend the life of your water ionizer.

  • You can purchase a gadget called “Protection Plus Ionized Armor” @ $82.00 (& never needs replacement) which magnetically causes the water to become negatively charged BEFORE it enters your water ionizer. This inhibits the elements in the water from sticking to the internal tubes, channels, electrodes, and spouts of the water ionizer. Negatively charging the water is also going help the water ionization process without adding any elements or chemicals into the water, so it’s a win-win-win situation.
  • You can purchase what’s called an “EOS Anti-Scaling Device” @ $160.00 (to be replaced about every 2000 – 3000 gallons). EOS stands for “Environmentally-Friendly + Omits + Scaling”. This is perfect if you have any kind of hard water that you’re concerned about. Hard water is HARD on water ionizers, because the water ionizer concentrates the alkaline minerals (i.e. calcium) into one stream inside the water cell, and this concentration of calcium tends to cause a calcium build-up (otherwise known as lime) which if it coats the plates (electrodes) even a small amount, you can lose some of your pH and ORP values. The EOS is an environmentally friendly way to reduce the amount of scale in your water ionizer! Calcium normally occurs in a crystalline structure which makes it adhere to virtually any surface creating a hard scale deposit that can accumulate as time goes on.  The EOS works by using a process to dramatically change the crystalline structure of calcium to a smooth, soft, spherical structure that does not create damaging scale build-up in your water ionizer. If you already have scale, guess what? It will dissolve the existing calcium carbonate scale build up (de-scaling effect!).
  • I also sell two specific prefilters for water hardness on my website, but honestly you don’t need this if you have the two devices I’ve described above! That’s great news, because these devices don’t take up any extra room and are not unsightly on your counter-top!

Will Reverse Osmosis and Distilled Water Kill You? And, Why is RO So Much Worse than Alkaline Ionized Water?

If you consider your body slowly rotting away from over-acidity, then I will say yes, you’re being killed by RO or Distilled water if you don’t properly remineralize your water. Why? Well, the key is the lack of beneficial alkaline minerals in RO and distilled water. Sixteen years ago I was introduced to the concept that the pH (not the purity) of the water was the most essential thing to consider when looking at maintaining a natural healthy life style. If you take all the good alkaline minerals out of the water, what is left will be or shortly become acidic because it will leach acids from the air. 

This is something that can be easily tested (by me, you or anyone with or without a water ionizer) with a simple pH test kit.

Go buy a bottle of RO or distilled water and test it. It will be acidic. Probably pH 6.0. Not healthy!

Water distillers and RO machines operate on very different techniques, but have one thing in common. That’s the elimination of all minerals from the water (the good and the bad). The Japanese call this “dead water”, because it’s unnatural and unhealthy to have water with no minerals in it. With a water ionizer, the alkaline minerals all get pulled toward the alkaline electrodes and the acidic minerals and elements get pulled toward the acidic electrodes. What comes out of the bottom hose of a water ionizer is acidic water, virtually void of alkaline minerals. It tests between 3 pH (highly acidic) and 6 pH (somewhat acidic). Out the top spout, comes the healthy, fresh, filtered, ionized alkaline-mineral-rich water.

Your body gives off more than enough acidity …the end process in each cell is acid wastes.

What your body needs is more alkalinity to buffer the excess acids, so your blood doesn’t need to rob your joints and bones of the alkaline minerals it needs to maintain the proper pH. Therefore the answer to finding good healthy water is NOT in reverse osmosis machines or water distillation…it’s in water ionization! If you have to use something like reverse osmosis, you should properly remineralize your water then you can ionize it and get fantastic healthy water!

What makes water ionization healthy when RO and water distillation are not?

  1. First of all, the water ionizer filters the water and rids it of the undesirable elements while at the same time allows the good elements (alkaline minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, potasium, etc.) to pass through into your healthy-drinking alkaline ionized water. RO and water distillation just indescriminately get rid of everything (the good and the bad).
  2. Secondly, the process of ionization forces the harmful acidic elements, such as chlorine and fluoride, out the bottom (non-drinking water) spout. Further protection for you.
  3. Water Ionization also splits the water molecules, making the cluster-size smaller and more easily absorbed into cells.
  4. Water Ionization increases the hydrogen (OH-) in the ionized water, making it an effective antioxidant free-radical scavenger. RO and distillation do not do this.
  5. If there is a hard-water or contamination concern in your area, there are prefilters and devices you can get to go with your water ionizer to handle those problems. Or if you do need to use RO, then you should go the extra mile and remineralize it and then ionize your purified, remineralized water with a good water ionizer. This will likely add years and years of health and beauty to your life!

I have spoken to many people who used to use RO or distilled water, and made the switch to an alkaline water ionizer.

These people make some of the most profound changes (more proof of how unhealthy the RO or distilled water was for them). Just yesterday, a friend of mine who just made this switch (she used to purchase RO water in big 5-gallon jugs but felt something was wrong with it…it didn’t feel quite right). About a week ago she installed her new Melody water ionizer that I had sold her. She had purchased some pH test strips at the health food store and had been testing her saliva and urine before purchasing her water ionizer. Her urine and saliva were acidic (that’s with drinking the RO water for over 2 years).  After one week of drinking ionized water the urine and saliva tests showed up green (alkaline) for the first time!!!!! That’s after one week of switching to the right water. Here’s another thing she told me. After drinking water from her new Melody water ionizer for one day, she has had much more energy and has actually at the same time needed less sleep! Needless to say, she’s flabbergasted. I just love hearing stories like that, and I hear them a lot in this business. Alkaline ionized water is the real McCoy! I’ve experienced nothing else, health-wise, that tops it! How Does the Nikken Water Ionizer Ionize?…or does it?

A potential customer asked me, the other day, to evaluate the Nikken water system. She said it was a water ionizer. I proceeded to try to research it, but the data available to me seems very vague and from what I can gather it does the opposite of a water ionizer. I’m not sure about the stones and magnets involved, perhaps this has some water ionization effect, but the water gets whirled around so fast that I’m sure it’s adding lots of oxygen to the water. This looks like a bad idea to me. We breathe oxygen, and it is because of oxydation in our bodies by free radicals that we need antioxidants. With ionized water, what we’re trying to do is better hydrogenate our bodies…they’re already oxygenated enough! Ionized water provides us with an unlimited supply of low (negative) ORP water, which is fantastic for scavenging up all our free radicals. I just can’t think of why anyone would want to stir in all that oxygen into the water! My theory was that if you stir or whip oxygen into ionized water it will raise the ORP, rather than lower it (which is what we want to do to make it healthier for free radical scavenging). So I conducted this test where I test the pH and ORP of ionized water from my Melody Water Ionizer at level 3, then I blend the water with a portable high-speed mixer (simulating the water whirring around in a Nikken water system. Finally, I tested the water after blending to see if the pH and ORP changed, and I recorded my results on the chart below. Here’s the video.

I just tested the new Jupiter Science Venus water ionizer with my own two hands (and pH/ORP meter) and it produces a high quality ionized water — fantastically great ionized water produced (almost as good as the Melody water ionizer)! You can see my testing here:

Some of the other great features of this new (Venus) water ionizer are:

  • Flow-control valve: Customizes the flow-rate of water through the water ionizer.
  • Voltage regulator capabilities: Changes voltage for better water ionization depending on whether you use hard or soft water
  • The price of the Venus water ionizer is $300.00 less than the Melody water ionizer

Some of the things I like better about my Melody water ionizer are:

  • The self-cleaning design of the Melody water ionizer makes the water ionizer plate-cleaning within the water-cell automatic –after you turn off the water ionizer, rather than interrupting the water ionization process
  • The polarity of the water ionization plates shifts after each use, so you never get calcium build-up [which can be the biggest trouble down the line with any water ionizer investment].
  • The Melody water ionizer isn’t a new design and it’s been tried-and-true for many years. As far as water ionizers go, this is not a light statement to make.
  • I guess I think my Melody water ionizer is prettier than the Venus water ionizer. And it seems very sturdy [like a good work-horse water ionizer should be]. Of course everyone will have their own opinion on this one. My daughter, for instance, thinks the Venus water ionizer is the most attractive water ionizer of all.
  • The Melody is going to be no-hassle eventually when I install it under my sink, because the self-cleaning happens after I’m done pouring my ionized water…I won’t have to listen for a warning sound telling me the water ionizer has gone into acid-water-mode. [Which is what you'd basically have to do if you decided to install your Venus water ionizer under your sink.
  • Can you tell I still like my Melody Water Ionizer the best?

Here's a video I did 2 months ago where I tested the flow rates of the Melody water ionizer. This is a good sample video to show how great the ionized water quality consistently is in my Melody water ionizer.

I also did complete testing of the Enagic LeveLuk SD501 water ionizer at about the same time, and you can see in these 2 videos that the Enagic water ionizer does not produce as good ionized water quality as the Melody water ionizer. I'd say according to my tests today, that the Enagic water ionizer [at a price of $3,800.00] produces the equivalent level of water ionization quality as the new Venus water ionizer though. This is not to put down the ionized water produced by the Enagic water ionizer! I love the quality of water the Enagic water ionizer produces! And I think it’s a pretty machine too. Water ionization is the first (and probably most important) step toward achieving an alkaline diet. Is Soda Eating You? What Can You do to Lengthen Your Life, Make Colds a Thing of the Past, Fight Off Aging and Disease and Feel More Energetic than Ever? 

Just how bad is soda? According to the tests in this video and chart below, fountain Diet Pepsi is 1,000 times more acidic than neutral. Canned Diet Pepsi is 10,000 times more acidic than 7.0 pH* (neutral). That’s probably mostly due to the carbonic acid used to carbonate the soda. Soda is also full of colorants, sweetners, and other harmful additives. You know how your stomach digests your food? Answer: Acids. Well acids are all fine and good in the stomach, but they don’t belong in your blood. However, when you drink soda, the acids in it go quickly into your blood. There’s not much to digest in soda, if anything, and so it will pass through the stomach quickly and get absorbed, acids and all, right into your blood. Thus… the analogy: the soda is eating you!

So how is it that so many people get away with drinking this junk every day?

When you’re young you might seem to be getting away with living on coffee, soda and junk food in general, but you will pay a price if you continue doing it.  Or I should say continue over-doing it. A little soda mixed in with a generally healthy diet which includes lots of water (especially alkaline ionized water) will probably be alright, but watch out. You’re playing with fire!  

What’s the price?

Well, even when you’re young you are paying a price even though you may not realize it. The younger you are the more your body is capable of buffering* acids, but one of the ways it buffers the acids you consume is to rob your bones and joints of calcium. Calcium is a good buffer and readily available in your joints when you’re young. The older you get the more robbing must occur to compensate for the fact that your buffering systems are wearing out. The more junk food you ate and soda you drank as a kid, the more and sooner you will suffer as an adult.

Can you turn it around?

Bottled mountain spring water and tap water are far better than soda for you. Drinking them will do you good for now, but it doesn’t look like the qualities of either of these waters can reverse the damage that you’ve done if you’ve drunk a lot of soda or eaten lots of junk foods throughout your life. The problem I can see with these are that their ORP is too high and of course the tap water is full of who knows what. The high ORP over time causes cells to oxidize [like an apple oxidizes -- or turns brown-- when it's exposed to the air for too long]. If you’re young and not worried about aging and disease and arthritis, etc., etc. you might not be concerned now with ORP. But just because you don’t see it, it doesn’t mean that damage isn’t happening. As a matter of fact many cancers may take up to 10 years before the tumor is large enough to detect.

Aging, colds, sore throats, “allergies” that come and go, wrinkles, soreness, can all be directly caused because of the free radicals in your body going unchecked.

It’s not just the things you drink that can cause acidity or contribute to free radical damage of your cells, it’s also what you eat. But that’s for another time. Right now let’s change to a more positive note. We’ve discussed the bad things about soda and the good and bad about bottled water and tap water. But we haven’t yet discussed the really good stuff, which is to say, the phenominal attributes of ionized water.

What is ionized water?

It’s water that has passed through platinum coated titanium plate electrodes and a tiny amount of electricity is added to the mix. The process splits the large clusters of 13 molecules or more and creates micro-clusters of water molecules. About 1/3 of the clusters are acidic and the other 2/3 are alkaline. The acidic water passes out a hose at the bottom of the machine while the alkaline water passes out the top spout.

A customer asked me a couple of months ago, “Aren’t the smaller clusters un-natural?” The answer is NO. If you go up into the mountains to get your mountain spring water fresh from the stream, it will be found to be in smaller clusters. But by the time it makes its way to the valley it’s picked up more acids and the cluster size grows. Then by the time it’s treated and stored…and who knows what…the cluster size grows even further.

So the water ionizer filters the water, makes it “wetter” because smaller clusters can more easily enter cells, and also makes it more alkaline so that you can get all the buffer you need to fight off those bad acid wastes by drinking ionized water every day. Finally it raises the ORP of the water. This is what enables your body to fight off the free radicals which cause cell mutations, cancers, disease, aging, wrinkles, and so on.

So can you do something to reverse the damage?…to turn things around?

I say, “Yep!” Get a water ionizer and use it! To me there is no comparison. Long life, health, vitality, longer-lasting beauty, are all worth so much more to me than the measily 50¢ per day it costs [when you break it all down] to own my very own ionizer. I wouldn’t go without one even if it cost $10.00 per day! It’s worth it. But thank goodness it doesn’t.

 

 

* pH stands for potential Hydrogen, and a high potential Hydrogen is found in alkalines, and a low potential Hydrogen is found in  acids. The pH scale spans from 1 to 14, with 1 being a theoretical maximum acidity and 14 being a maximum alkalinity. The scale is logarithmic, meaning that to go from one number to the next on the scale represents 10 times the former. Example: a pH of 5.0 is 10 times more acidic than 6 on the scale and so on.

* Buffering is bringing the pH back to neutral range. The body will die if the blood pH goes too high or too low, so this buffering is a protective mechanism the body does to keep the blood in the neutral range. If you don’t provide sufficient buffers through your diet, the body will rob bones and joints to grab the necessary buffers it needs. It’s a survival necessity at that point. Arthritis & Osteoporosis are after all better than death.

Imagine the fish that live in this beautiful pool of water. They are happy and healthy, because they are living in a healthy pool of water that’s constantly being cleaned and refreshed. I tested coffee for its acidity using her pH meter. I made the coffee using my alkaline ionized water from my Melody water ionizer. The water coming out of this ionizer is nicely alkaline at a pH of 11. Will the coffee be acidic or alkaline? You’re invited to watch this quick and easy video and see what you can find out. 



As you can see, despite the fact that the water was so highly alkaline to begin with, the fact of dripping it through the coffee pot to make coffee changed it and made it over 10,000 times more acidic! Here’s to learning something new every day!

So, if you were wondering how much coffee could you safely drink in a day, here’s my advice: Without a water ionizer, drink none! With your own water ionizer, and if you drink about 3/4 gallon or more ionized water daily, I think it’s safe to drink a 16 oz. cup of coffee daily. I do. But not without an ionizer!

People bring their ionized water to work or school with them all the time. They store it in plastic bottles usually. Which makes sense, because who wants to deal with glass…which breaks. I did some testing of water stored in a glass bottle verses plastic. You can see on the two videos that I tested two different types of plastic bottle and a plastic cup (with a straw hole). I tested it after 4 1/2 hours and again after 24 hours. So make a guess, which will be the winner? And, how much difference, if any, is found in the pH and ORP of the water in different containers?

Testing Soda, Bottled Spring Water, Tap Water and Alkaline Ionized Water

Buffering is the act of bringing the pH back to neutral range. The body will die if the blood pH goes too high or too low, so this buffering is a protective mechanism the body does to keep the blood in the neutral range. If you don’t provide sufficient buffers through your diet, the body will rob bones and joints to grab the necessary buffers it needs. It’s a survival necessity at that point. Arthritis & Osteoporosis are after all better than death. Soda takes away your buffers — uses them up, because soda is extremely acidic. Ionized water, on the other hand, gives you extra buffers that your body needs to maintain pH balance inside your body & health.

Here I am demonstrating the pH* and ORP* of fountain soda (Diet Pepsi), canned soda (Diet Pepsi), Natural Spring Water (bottled), tap water (St. Louis) and ionized water using a Jupiter Melody water ionizer. This video was longer than 10 minutes, so is split into two parts. The results can be viewed in the video and also on the chart below.

Just how bad is soda? According to the tests in this video and chart below, fountain Diet Pepsi is 1,000 times more acidic than neutral. Canned Diet Pepsi is 10,000 times more acidic than 7.0 pH* (neutral). That’s probably mostly due to the carbonic acid used to carbonate the soda. Soda is also full of colorants, sweetners, and other harmful additives. You know how your stomach digests your food? Answer: Acids. Well acids are all fine and good in the stomach, but they don’t belong in your blood. However, when you drink soda, the acids in it go quickly into your blood. There’s not much to digest in soda, if anything, and so it will pass through the stomach quickly and get absorbed, acids and all, right into your blood. Thus… the analogy: the soda is eating you!

So, how is it that so many people get away with drinking this junk every day?

When you’re young you might seem to be getting away with living on coffee, soda and junk food in general, but you will pay a price if you continue doing it. Or I should say continue over-doing it. A little soda mixed in with a generally healthy diet which includes lots of water (especially alkaline ionized water) will probably be alright, but watch out. You’re playing with fire!

What’s the price?

Well, even when you’re young you are paying a price even though you may not realize it. The younger you are the more your body is capable of buffering acids, but one of the ways it buffers the acids you consume is to rob your bones and joints of calcium. Calcium is a good buffer and readily available in your joints when you’re young. The older you get the more robbing must occur to compensate for the fact that your buffering systems are wearing out. The more junk food you ate and soda you drank as a kid, the more and sooner you will suffer as an adult.

Can you turn it around?

Bottled mountain spring water and tap water are far better than soda for you. Drinking them will do you good for now, but it doesn’t look like the qualities of either of these waters can reverse the damage that you’ve done if you’ve drunk a lot of soda or eaten lots of junk foods throughout your life. The problem I can see with these are that their ORP is too high and of course the tap water is full of who knows what. The high ORP over time causes cells to oxidize [like an apple oxidizes -- or turns brown-- when it's exposed to the air for too long]. If you’re young and not worried about aging and disease and arthritis, etc., etc. you might not be concerned now with ORP. But just because you don’t see it, it doesn’t mean that damage isn’t happening. As a matter of fact many cancers may take up to 10 years before the tumor is large enough to detect.

Aging, colds, sore throats, “allergies” that come and go, wrinkles, soreness, can all be directly caused because of the free radicals in your body going unchecked.

It’s not just the things you drink that can cause acidity or contribute to free radical damage of your cells, it’s also what you eat. But that’s for another time. Right now let’s change to a more positive note. We’ve discussed the bad things about soda and the good and bad about bottled water and tap water. But we haven’t yet discussed the really good stuff, which is to say, the phenominal attributes of ionized water.

What is ionized water?

It’s water that has passed through platinum coated titanium plate electrodes and a tiny amount of electricity is added to the mix. The process splits the large clusters of 13 molecules or more and creates micro-clusters of water molecules. About 1/3 of the clusters are acidic and the other 2/3 are alkaline. The acidic water passes out a hose at the bottom of the machine while the alkaline water passes out the top spout.

If you go up into the mountains to get your mountain spring water fresh from the stream, it will be found to be in smaller clusters. But by the time it makes its way to the valley it’s picked up more acids and the cluster size grows. Then by the time it’s treated and stored…and who knows what…the cluster size grows even further.

So the water ionizer filters the water AND makes it “wetter”

…because smaller clusters can more easily enter cells, and also makes it more alkaline so that you can get all the buffer you need to fight off those bad acid wastes by drinking ionized water every day. Finally it raises the ORP of the water. This is what enables your body to fight off the free radicals which cause cell mutations, cancers, disease, aging, wrinkles, and so on. So can you do something to reverse the damage?…to turn things around? I say, “Yep!” Get a water ionizer and use it! To me there is no comparison. Long life, health, vitality, longer-lasting beauty, are all worth so much more to me than the measily 50¢ per day it costs [when you break it all down] to own my very own ionizer. I wouldn’t go without one even if it cost $10.00 per day! It’s worth it. But thank goodness it doesn’t.

*pH means potential Hydrogen and is measured by a logarithmic [each unit is a multiple of 10 of the preceding unit] scale from 1 to 14. When a substance is below 7 on the scale it is said to be acidic. When it’s above 7 it’s said to be alkaline. The blood is around 7.35 and must stay in a very narrow range of slight alkalinity in order to sustain life.
*ORP means Oxygen Reduction Potential. It basically stands for the proportionate amount of negatively charged Hydrogen ions [H-] existing in a substance. The easiest way to look at is …it’s the anti-oxidant effect that that substance is cabable of giving your body when you drink it.
