Are there any long-term concerns about drinking ionized water?

In Japan and Korea, about 15% or so of the population has been drinking ionized water for over 30 years…some even longer. Many hospitals in both Japan and Korea use water ionizers for both its alkalizing/anti-oxidizing properties for drinking and for its acid properties in healing skin sores.

Innumerable tests have been done on mice, rats, chickens, etc., and in almost every instance there were good results noted and no negative results have ever been able to be replicated. There have been no substantiated incidents of negative long-term effects of people drinking ionized water.

I have personally known people who are cancer-free today primarily because of ionized water. My family and extended family are so much healthier because of ionized water! Over the years I have had hundreds of customers who either have written to me or spoken with me on the phone and told me their stories of how water ionizers have help them and their families so much.

Water ionizers have a bona fide and rightful, life-long place in any family’s healthy home.

As a long-time educator [I was a teacher/principal for over 24 years], I am very interested in educating people [and giving people the straight scoop] about water ionizers. I will not allow myself to sell a product that could do harm or isn’t tested thoroughly enough for safety. I also personally, have been drinking ionized water for over 16 years, along with my family and extended family. I can safely say that I am healthier today, at age 59, than when I started drinking it at age 43! The reason I am selling water ionizers today is because a water ionizer is the one, single, best, health product I have ever purchased. So after retiring from teaching I decided to pursue this passion.

Are there negative reports about ionized water?

There are going to be people who will, no matter what it is that you are advocating, will advocate against it. In every case, when I’ve come across a report I have given it my full attention. One chemist was warning people that ionized water could upset the balance in your colon. It seemed like a silly warning, especially in light of all the colonoscopy work that Dr. Shinya has done to show the great things ionized water does for all of his thousands of patients’ colons [Dr. Shinya is the inventor of the colonoscopy]. But even though the claim seemed silly, I still checked it out on myself.

Just a few months ago my husband and I had comprehensive stool analyses [which showed a perfect supply of good bacteria, zero bad bacteria, zero parasites, and good results in every other way.]

Not only do we feel healthier than ever, but the blood, stool and urine tests my husband and I have done [after drinking ionized water for over 16 years] are showing this as well!

Another health-reporter was worrying people about long-term use [he said short-term use for detoxing was good but not long term...however didn’t specify his reasons]. He hinted at the stomach/colon, and possibly “leaky-gut”, but was elusive [I think he just wanted to sell his newly imported water filters]. So, just last month I had a urinalysis [along with test for leaky-gut] and the comprehensive report showed that all levels for everything tested were perfect. In addition my heart rate and blood pressure were so good the nurse made a comment about how envious she was.

It’s interesting that none of the “authorities” that I’ve run across who have advocated against water ionization have ever actually tried it.

Their reports are obviously flawed in such a way as to show they haven’t much knowledge about water ionizers either. Many health authorities or scientists who HAVE fully checked out water ionizers have concurred with what I know from experience, that the health benefits possible are quite bona fide and even amazing. How do vitamins fit in with water ionizers?

Another benefit: Since I’ve been drinking ionized water, my intake of vitamins and minerals have lowered. I take a normal amount of vitamins today, but took a greater than normal amount 20 years ago…because I wasn’t as healthy then as I am today. Last year my husband and I had our blood fully analyzed and, just as we knew it would, every level of dozens of things the test covered was perfect.

Medical Uses for Water Ionizers:

There is one particular water ionizer that claims to be the only one suitable for medical uses [such as if a person has cancer or some other condition they are worried about]. This is bogus and absolutely, completely, 100% untrue. The actual fact of the matter is that it is a sales pitch and it is in my opinion bordering on fraud.

Water ionizers, in general, have been approved for manufacturing in 1965 by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare as medical equipment to produce medical substances.

In Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, water ionizers are considered as medical devices, but also as water treatment devices. In the U.S., water ionizers are not considered medical devices, and it could be risky for a company to market them as such. Enagic gets away with their marketing, because mostly these claims are being made person to person or in closed group settings. However it is a risky thing to do, and could put the company out of business or at least cause some damage in the way of fines. Several years ago, when I started hearing the claims by Enagic dealers, I decided to find out for myself. I was perfectly willing to switch companies if the Enagic was better. I just wanted to know. I cannot tell you how many times I have tested and retested [and retested and retested] their water ionizer against the other two top water ionizers, the Athena and Tyent water ionizers, as well as other water ionizers, and other than an occasional higher pH [for cleaning water…too high to drink] and a higher flow-rate [which in my opinion is not a good thing…because the filtration suffers when the flow-rate is too fast] the Athena is better. The Tyent is probably tied…but the warranty is better with the Tyent and so is the price.

For long-term use, when is it best to consume ionized water?

It is best to consume ionized water away from mealtimes if your meal contains meat. Some also suggest to not drink it while taking medications [vitamins are fine though]. A good rule of thumb is for 20 min. before and 20 min. after meals or taking medications, drink little or no alkaline water. If you like to drink water with meals containing meat, then I suggest you squeeze a slice of lemon into your ionized water and you’ll change the pH of it to acidic or just drink filtered water. The reason for this is that during the initial phases of digestion your stomach needs to maintain a more acidic environment [in particular if your meal contains meat].

How do You Know You’re Getting the Best Quality of Water Ionizer?

One way is to compare the water ionizer’s ORP per Unit of PH: Not all ionizers will give a good ORP at lower pH levels, such as at pH settings of 8 or 8.5. That’s why I’ve done extensive testing of both the pH and ORP of all of the leading water ionizers. I have also tested ionizers in a variety of different locations, so I could get an idea of how source water affects the ORP at the various pH levels.

Why Would People Need the Lower PH Settings of 8 or 8.5?

People whose diets are mostly fruits and vegetables are probably more naturally alkaline and may need to set their ionizers to give them pH levels of about 8 or 8.5. Also, depending on the pH level of your incoming water, some water comes in at already a 8 – 9 pH. In this case, the ionizing of water is still very beneficial, because ORP [oxidation reduction potential, or antioxidant value of the water] delivers over 50% of the health benefits from water ionization.

People whose diets are fairly typical of US, with several trips to a fast food restaurant per week and/or more than 40% of food intake [visually] is from meat and grains will probably be more acidic and need higher pH settings for their ionized water, such as a pH of 9 or 10.

Which are the Best Water Ionizers?

It probably depends a little on your source water [where you live], but I’ll give you a very brief summary of what I’ve found to be the best water ionizers.

Medium-Hardness Water Areas: The best ionizer I’ve found for giving high ORP per unit of pH in medium-hardness water areas is the Athena water Ionizer [and also its under-sink equivalent, the Delphi]. The Tyent is also good, as well as the Enagic, Miracle Max or VS70, in that order, although these perform better at the higher [too high to drink] pH settings and do not get as good ORP per unit of pH in the lower pH settings. The Enagic is not good at getting lower PH levels when the source water is too alkaline to begin with. You can do it, by increasing the flow-rate and reducing the power-setting, but then the ORP is not good.

Soft Water Areas: The ionizer needs to work harder in soft water areas to bring the pH level up. Some water ionizers are more suited to this. The best ionizer I’ve found for giving high pH and ORP in extreme soft water areas [such as BC, Canada, or Washington state] is the Chanson Miracle Max or VS 70 water ionizers. The Athena or Delphi water ionizers are good if you set the pH-Boosting setting up to the highest level, and add a mineral filter to one of the filter ports. In this case you will get fantastic ORP per unit of pH in soft water areas, better than the Miracle Max, however you may not be able to get much higher than an alkaline value of 9.5 or 10 pH or much lower than an acidic potential of 4 or 5 pH [for cleaning purposes]. The Tyent and Enagic water ionizers are great too, probably equal to the Athena for drinking pH-levels, if you add a Remineralizer. In all cases, if you have extremely soft water [either because you have reverse osmosis or if you live in an extreme soft-water area, I recommend using a Remineralizer for the best results. With the addition of a Remineralizer or two, you can boost your incoming hardness to any desired amount.

Very Hard Water Areas: In very hard water areas, such as Arizona or Vegas, or in the case of very hard well-water, it is difficult to use any water ionizer to its full potential unless you do something to fix your source water first. For instance, you may be able to get decent drinking water, but may not be able to get any acid water lower than a pH of 5 or 6. The best results would come from reducing your source water to medium-hardness levels before ionizing it. I have had very good reports from people who have used the Reverse-Osmosis-Remineralizer-System to treat their water prior to ionization. The only down-side to this is the amount of water you are likely to be able to use at any given moment is about 1 ½ gallons. After that, you will need to wait about a half hour before you can pour more. The second-best fix for water that is extremely hard is the Spartan Ionizer Shield. I have several very good reports from happy customers about this product. The Spartan Ionizer Shield pre-filtration system doesn’t reduce your water flow or quantity, and it cuts the hardness in about half. If you use a whole-house softener [which uses sodium or potassium] the Spartan Ionizer Shield wouldn’t be the right product, though. The only effective filtration for sodium or potasium is reverse osmosis.

After over 16 years of drinking alkaline ionized water, I can say with conviction that the very best thing I could give to myself or a loved one is a WATER IONIZER! Give yourself and your family the gift of health this year!

Dr. Robert O Young has a new version of the PH Miracle book available at Amazon or other book stores now.  This is a brief book review of both the new and old PH Miracle books.

First of all, I’d like to encourage you to buy this book (one or the other), as it is worthy of your attention. Do you need both books? In my opinion, no. They are very, very similar to each other. 

There are three main differences between the new and old versions of the PH Miracle books.

1. The new PH Miracle book has a whole section about ionized water and the value of owning and using a water ionizer as part of his PH Miracle plan and advice. The old book emphasized the use of clean [filtered] water, but he at the time was encouraging people to purify the water [i.e., with reverse osmosis] and he later realized the error of over-purification along with the value of water ionization in his research with patients, and so changed that section of the book.
2. The new PH Miracle book has more recipes.
3. The price for the new version of the PH Miracle is over two times higher than the old version of the PH Miracle book.

I believe if you have access to the internet, you can get as much or more information about the value and uses of water ionizers on pages like my “Water Class” page, my “How to Use a Water Ionizer” page, or my “Water Ionizer Comparison” page. 

Dr. Robert O Young has done a great job [with both PH Miracle books] communicating about all kinds of foods and their effects on the body. He discusses the following topics in depth and in a way that is understandable to the lay-person:

• Blood, and its relation to analyzing the health of a person and their diet.
• Oils [saturated fats, trans fats, poly-unsaturated fats, etc.]…this is a very important topic.
• Proteins [in particular vegetable proteins are explained and encouraged over meat proteins, also fresh, wild, cold-water fish are encouraged over other types of fish or meats]: these are discussed in scientific terms, but with emphasis on debunking some of the old myths about protein. I don’t think most people realize all of the nutritionally rich pH-friendly protein that’s available in vegetables. [We have all been told that we get our protein from meat, nuts, poultry and fish.] Dr. Young does a good job explaining all the protein potential of vegetables.] He also discusses topics such as nuts vs. seeds, giving the reader some new insights.
• Carbohydrates are addressed as a matter of course, but while I agree whole-heartedly with discouraging sucrose and refined sugars and flour, Dr. Young also discourages fruit. His reasoning is geared toward alleviation of fungi in the body, and his reasoning is explained in the book, but not well developed in my opinion. 
• Weight Loss is more specifically addressed in his PH Miracle for Weight Loss book, but I think most people who read and understand what Dr. Young has to offer in the regular PH Miracle book [old or new version] will be likely to have an easier time of losing weight.
• Disease in general and specifically is of course discussed with attention to all of the topics above.

After over 16 years of drinking alkaline ionized water, I can say with conviction that the very best thing I could give to myself or a loved one is a WATER IONIZER!  Give yourself and your family the gift of health this year!

Water Ionizer News

Here is a just-posted video interview with Dr. Robert Young, author of pH Miracle books and a 30-year water ionizer researcher/guro, with Chanson Water Ionizer USA owner, Ronnie Ruiz.

Dr. Young used to only endorse the Jupiter water ionizers, mainly the Jupiter Melody. This is because he tested all of the water ionizers and felt that the Jupiter Melody gave you the best “water ionization for your buck”. He liked the way most of the Jupiter models were made [from the Melody water ionizer on up], and he liked their intenal cleaning systems [which are very important].

Dr. Young conducts research on water ionizers and their uses & effectiveness, so that he can help his clients. He does a lot of work with live blood analysis and he puts his clients on alkaline diets. Since he is considered by many to be a top water ionizer guru, his endorsement of a water ionizer is significant.

Now, since Dr. Young has seen and tested the Chanson Miracle water ionizer, he is impressed with this water ionizer’s ability to ionize water well, get an extremely high pH [of about 12 with his high-mineral source water], get an extremely low pH [of under 2 with his high-mineral source water], get an extremely high/low ORP [above +1000/below -1000], he is convinced that the Chanson Miracle water ionizer is a MIRACLE WATER IONIZER!

What really impressed Ronnie at the factory was they test every single feature of every single chanson water ionizer before it leaves the factory! They even test the pH and ORP to make sure that each water is performing at the exact level that it should. Correction Note: Ronnie states in this video that all other, or most or many water ionizer companies put calcium sulphite in their water filters. Actually the only major or popular [in the US] water ionizer filters that I know of with calcium sulphite [which is added as a preservative] in them are: Life water ionizers, Bion-tech, and Enagic water ionizers.

Here’s another video with Ronnie in Taiwan. He’s exploring the many stores in Taiwan where Chanson water ionizers [and other water ionizers] are sold. You can see that Chanson is a main water ionizer leader in Taiwan [where water ionizers are as common as toasters -- it seems]. Fifty percent of people in Japan and 40% of people in Korea have their own water ionizers.

ORP stands for oxidation reduction potential. A water ionizer produces drinking water that is both good for you pH-wise [alkaline] and is good for you oxidation-wize [antioxidizes]. Many scientists in the field of water ionization are now saying [although both are very important] that…

the ORP of the ionized water is even more important in preventing diseases than the pH!

PH: People are very sensitive to pH and blood plasma, for instance, cannot exceed a very narrow range of 7.2 – 7.4 [healthiest at 7.365]. This is why balancing your body pH is so important! Your body will shut down digestion, alter temperature, and rob your bones of calcium to make sure the blood stays in this narrow range. Of course it does this, because the alternative is death. Anything that has the ability to bind with acids and neutralize them is called an alkaline buffer. You help your body tremendously by providing plenty of alkaline buffers [i.e. alkaline ionized water]!

ORP: All liquids have an Oxidation Reduction Potential [ORP]. This is the potential of that liquid to reduce/stop/slow-down oxidation. Oxidation can be seen when you cut an apple in half and leave it open to the air. The oxygen in the air reacts with the apple and oxidizes it [removes a negatively charged electron from it], turning it brown. If you set that apple into a solution with a negative ORP [in other words, a solution with a high antioxidant potential], it wouldn’t turn brown. Put some lemon juice on a cut apple. Lemon juice is full of antioxidants. See how it can stay white for days! Oxidation happening in your body [also can be called "free radical damage"] can be slowed down by adding lots of antioxidants. Only a negative ORP can reduce oxidation. ORP can be measured. Most water [tap & bottled alike] is measured at a positive ORP [+150 to +400]. A water ionizer will take that water, ionize it, and in the process add so many negatively charged electrons that it reduces the ORP to the negative range of -150 to -700 or so [depending on the level of your ionized water]. In other words it makes it contain a fantastic number of natural, easily absorbable antioxidants. Any liquid containing a negative ORP greater than -300 is considered a beneficial substance for your health. You can expect to have better resistance to infection, increased strength and energy, and be younger looking if you drink alkaline ionized water with a -300 or stronger ORP. The ORP of a liquid can be measured with an ORP meter.

Should every water ionizer owner get their own ORP meter?

Heck no! They are expensive and hard to maintain. The pH drops that come with your water ionizer are actually a much more reliable tool to use in measuring if your water ionizer is still ionizing well. Once your water ionizer has been designed and engineered, the ratio of pH to ORP ratio is pretty well set. The stronger the ORP of your ionized water per unit of pH, the healthier that ionized water is for your body. It is a test of the design and quality of the water ionizer to get a stronger [more negative] ORP per unit of pH. If your water ionizer has been tested for ORP levels, and it’s good at first, will probably remain good as long as your electrodes stay clean. You can test for electrode cleanliness by testing your pH at certain levels [i.e. lowest acid, highest alkaline, and level 3 drinking level].  You don’t need to constantly check your water ionizer’s ORP. You can do these pH tests every month [for instance] and record your results. If you start noticing the pH falling over time, then you can also safely assume your ORP is also falling, and it’s time to clean your water ionizer [&/or get an EOS device].

The reason I use both pH and ORP meters is in comparing water ionizers with each other. I do a LOT of comparing water ionizers! If one water ionizer at pH 9.5 gives an ORP of -400 and another at pH 9.5 gives an ORP of -350, then the second one is not as good as the first. I also compare the quality of water storage containers. If after several hours or a day the ORP has dropped more than the pH using one container vs another I will know that container is worse for storing ionized water. I do a lot of testing to see how long ionized water can be stored and still maintain the pH and ORP benefits. One thing I’ve learned from my many tests is that ORP drops more quickly than the pH toward neutral. [Note on water storage: Both pH and ORP drop toward neutral constantly, so for maximum benefits try not to store your ionized water for more hours than you need to. Eight hours is fine, but after 2-3 days your ionized water has dropped pretty close to neutral.]

If you want your own ORP meter, you should know how to clean and maintain it!

For anyone who wishes to have and use their own ORP meter you must know some general principles of how to clean and maintain an ORP meter! Without this understanding, your very expensive ORP meter will be worth exactly $0.00 to you in about a month [or less] after purchasing it. In the following video, we’ll take a look at a couple of ORP meters, and some of the ways that you can clean an ORP meter. Here are some of the ways mentioned in the video:

• Keep the probe from drying out
• Keep the probe in a very low pH [acidic] solution in between uses
• Most ORP meters have a cap that comes with the probe and you can fill the cap with the low acid solution before placing the probe into the cap. Store it in such a way that your liquid doesn’t drain out.
• If your probe dries out between testing, get ready for some heavy-duty cleaning [watch video for this]
• Use a dedicated toothbrush for light scrubbing of the probe
• Use a very, very fine sand paper [such as 220 grit] to get the scale off the probe. Do this only as needed and very lightly.
• Be ready to continue to store your probe in the low acid solution for days [then do repeat cleaning] as shown on the video…until your meter is restored to its correct operation range. Here’s the video:

Water Ionizers will help filter out some of the pharmaceuticals and poisons, but not all.

Back in 2002 a study by the USGS [United States Geological Survey] revealed traces of pharmaceuticals and other man-made poisons showing up in our water supplies. Since then other studies, such as an extensive study by the associated press, have exposed more and more drugs and other poisons that are making their way back into our drinking water. These drugs are scary enough on their own [anti-depressants, hormones, pain killers, etc.], but combined…who knows what the effect into the future will be. Literally, wherever testing was done, drugs were found in the drinking water. So, cities which were not implicated in having particular drugs in their water probably do have them, but just hasn’t been tested for them yet. No mandatory testing has been passed through congress, even though years have passed since the drugs-in-our-water problems were exposed. Here is one of the many news videos on the subject:

When is the FDA and/or EPA going to require all water to be tested for pharmaceuticals? I wouldn’t trust that it’s going to happen any time soon. The reason I think this is …look at all the municipalities still fluoridating water! Years ago fluoride was seen in many studies as a link to learning disabilities, Alzheimer’s, fluoridosis in young children, and other diseases. It’s also been proven that the only actual benefit for fluoride is when it’s applied topically [i.e. in toothpaste]. We literally take the toxic waste from the aluminum manufacturing plants [AKA - fluoride] and dump it intentionally into the water supply! How dumb is that?! So, with a track record like that, I’m not going to bet on the government, all by itself — with no pressure from massive amounts of people, is going to fix the pharmaceutical problem. Here’s another reason I don’t trust the government to anytime soon fix this problem: Look at the newest water treatment chemical being dumped into our water: chloramine! Chlorine kills the germs, and is easy to filter out of the water, but chloramine [chlorine combined with ammonia] is now the water disinfectant of choice! Chloramine is much harder to remove from your drinking water and it requires special filtration. The Jupiter and KYK companies so far have included filtering material in their filters for Chloramine, but not all companies have caught up with this latest government craze.

With all that being said, there is some help for ordinary people to protect against the fluorides, chloramines, and now pharmaceudicals.: water ionization. Of course water ionizers will not completely eradicate the drugs-in-our-water problem, but here are some of the ways they can help:

• One of the best ways to protect yourself from all the junk is to install an Reverse-Osmosis-Remineralizer system and water ionizer. It will remove the junk for one, but then also the water will be so much healthier for you that you will hopefully not be one of those people contributing to the pharmaceuticals problem [because you won't be using them].
• Or just get a water ionizer. A water ionizer all by itself will help eliminate over 85% of the acidic elements in the water. Fluoride is acidic, so falls in this category. Plus, as stated above, if you’re healthier, you won’t be contributing to the problem as much.

• With your water ionizer purchase, you can order a fluoride, lead and arsenic pre-filter and/or many other pre-filters.

Is reverse-osmosis good enough? No. This will still be contributing to the problem, because it’s not healthy for you to drink water that has no minerals in it. It’s dead-water and tends to become acidic and unhealthy for you.

What about reverse-osmosis-remineralized water. That’s better, but the healthiest water [provided it's made with clean, non-toxic, water] is ionized water. There simply is no comparison.

Titanium and Platinum are both very strong metals. They both are highly resistant to heat, corrosion, chemical reactions, and oxidation. Titanium is so strong it’s used in making spacecraft, and its abundance makes it very inexpensive. So, for electrodes that will resist corrosion and oxidation over years and years of intense use in a water ionizer, it is the industry standard to use titanium plates coated with Platiinum.

In a water ionizer, the main use for Platinum is to electrolyze water. It has other properties, but the absolute most important use for Platinum in a water ionizer is that…

Water ionization wouldn’t happen without Platinum!

Without platinum the electrolysis of water would be very slow. The larger the surface area [of Platinum] that gets exposed to the water passing through the water ionizer the FASTER the water can be electrolyzed. The increase in titanium has a reverse effect on electrolysis. The more titanium contained in your electrode [in other words -- the larger the plate size] the more electricity you need to push through that electrode in order to ionize the water. Engineers need to juggle these two factors to come up with a design that electrolizes quick enough for today’s presto-chango instant water ionizers! The proof that the design is good is:

DOES THE WATER IONIZER GET A GOOD PH AND ORP CHANGE?

The ones I sell [see STORE above] do. It’s a simple question to answer, because I’ve tested them all.

Understanding Electrolysis: Electrolysis is the act of passing electricity through water to break the water [H20] down into oxygen [O2] and Hydrogen [H2]. During electrolysis…large water clusters split and form two streams. Hydrogen concentrates over on the negatively charged pole [or ALKALINE side of the water cell], and Oxygen concentrates over on the Acidic [positively charged] side of the water ionizer’s water cell. This whole complex process must happen very, very quickly, instantly,  if it is to create a significant change in the water.

Titanium plates are hard and resist corrosion, but they [by themselves -- without Platinum] cannot be used as electrodes. The reason is that the titanium plates by themselves wouldn’t be able to produce a good change in pH and ORP of your ionized water. Without platinum [the catalyst] the process to ionize water requires much more energy and time than a water ionizer has …to ionize water.

Platinum catalyzes [or speeds up] the electrolysis process and so allows ionization to occur in our modern day water ionizers where the water passes through the water cell and instantly ionizes the water.

Water ionizers of today produce ionized water right out of the top spout — instantly!

This is why the water ionizers of today are especially dependent on Platinum. 

Platinum is the one, single element on this planet that can do the job of SPEEDING UP ELECTROLYSIS!

I have one cautionary thing to say about water ionizer designs. The water ionizers with large plates are having to push a lot more electricity through their plates [by the laws of electricity -- the larger the electrode the more electricity is needed to go through it. This greater amount of electricity of course produces a lot more heat. It is the job of the engineer and research scientist to ensure that the design is not calling for too much heat. This is where trust in the company and the longevity of the water ionizer manufacturer comes in. Too much heat is the enemy of a platinum-coated electrode. The surface contact could break down and over time with lots of use I believe the water ionizers that use over 220 watts of power will wear out and might lose their platinum coating in places. I'm not saying it will happen...but it might. In 20 years I guess we'll find out.

How will you be able to tell if your water ionizer is losing its Platinum coating?

You'll notice it is no longer able to make a great change in the PH and ORP of your ionized water. But you might just have hard-water scaling that prevents the water from contacting the Platinum...so make sure you're using an EOS [Elimination of Scaling] device if you live in a hard water area.

I was browsing around the internet today and came accross a very compelling water ionizer testamonial that reminded me of my own water ionizer testamonial in many ways.

Tina started out as a young child with many ailments. She had severe menstrual problems, chronic headaches, but the most profound thing she had wrong with her was her awful, chronic joint problems…that were destroying all her dreams! She had swelling and deterioration in her knees, fingers, wrists, neck, back and almost every joint!

Since Tina was 16 years old [in 1970] she had seen every kind of specialist possible for her problems. The things that helped her only helped a little. She was looking at a very bleak future, because her joint condition was getting worse despite everything she did. So what happened in 2005 to change Tina’s life?

Tina discovered a water ionizer!

She learned all about water ionization and how it affects the body’s pH …and deduced she had an acidic body! Following this discovery, Tina started drinking ionized water and never has looked back! Her joint aches and pains have gone away! But in addition to that, other symptoms [that she didn't even know she had] have gone away. She didn’t realize her brain fog was a symptom of anything related to health [now she is blessed with mental clarity]. She had no thoughts of her inability to hold herself when she had to go to the bathroom as being anything connected to health. Now she sees what a healthy bladder feels like. She now gets a great night’s sleep [whereas before she didn't, but when she had the problem she didn't see it as health-related]. She also now has never ending energy, when before she’d get tired a lot [but didn't previously pinpoint it as a health issue].

Now Tina [in 2009] says she’s addicted to feeling great! She encourages everyone to [in addition to eating healthy foods and taking suppliments] drink ionized water! She also advises people to stay away from soda, white flour, sugar and animal products. One of the things she discovered was a culprit from the time she was a baby, was milk! Tina has always been a milk lover and heavy milk drinker. She is staying away from milk now and substituting ionized water instead.

Why did Tina have so much joint trouble?

In Tina’s research about water ionizers and body pH, she discovered that most people have more fat than she does. Her body has always been very lean [she's 5 ft. tall and weighs 95 lbs]. While most people might envy Tina’s figure, the truth is that fat plays an important role in protecting joints from acid wastes given off by your cells. If your diet doesn’t contain enough alkaline buffers, it will dump acids into fat cells as a way of maintaining the essential 7.365 narrow pH range that your blood needs for your body to stay alive. If you don’t have enough fat cells, your body will tend to dump the acid wastes into your joints — to keep you from dying. The more alkaline buffers you can provide for your body, the fewer fat cells you need. Therefore when Tina finally started drinking ionized water, she was able to provide her body with the alkaline buffers it needed. So, even though she was thin, she was now able to get rid of her cells acid wastes — into her blood and then out through her elimination processes!

Tina’s story is fantastic! She reminds me of myself in many ways. From the time I was young, I was interested in healthy foods and natural healing. I never considered myself to be unhealthy until after I started drinking ionized water in 1993. I was drinking ionized water for about a half-year when I realized how great I felt, and that I no longer had some unhealthy conditions [that I didn't realize were unhealthy until they were gone]. I had frequently recurring sore throats [which occasionally lead to strep], and the doctor just brushed these off as “post nasal drip” and was no big deal. These are all [I realize now] symptoms of an acid body…and I don’t usually get these symptoms ever anymore. I just love my new Athena Water Ionizer and my new IonLife Reverse-Osmosis-with-Remineralizer Set up!

For years I was really against reverse osmosis, because it took all the minerals out of the water and left it as “dead water”, as the Japanese refer to it. I’ve been drinking ionized water for about 17 years and have loved every minute of it. Buying water ionizer in my opinion is the healthiest thing a person can do!

I changed my mind about RO when IonLife came out with their new Reverse-Osmosis-with-Remineralizer!

The thing that sold me was the remineralizer! The Remineralizer cartridge puts back organic coral calcium plus 70+ organic trace minerals. Actually I would pay for this advantage alone. Organic plant source minerals are much healthier for your body and don’t cause the problems that inorganic [rock-based] minerals do. Another thing that sold me was the price! I’ve usually heard of RO costing up around $2000.00 or so, but this whole RO system with the 6 gallon storage tank & remineralizer, especially designed to give enough pressure and the right minerals for water ionization with organic plant-source minerals custom-designed to be perfect for a water ionizer….only costs $379.00! 

I was a little leary of hooking up an RO. It seemed so complicated. But now in hindsight, it was pretty easy to do! Here’s a quick look at what the RO system entails:

After drinking ionized water from this new RO system with remineralizer for the past few weeks, I can say I really love it! It feels good to my body! I love the fact that the sodium and fluoride are removed so well! I’m very happy with my decision to do this! I’ve done some comparison testing between the RO as a source water and the St. Louis tap water and the RO source water seems to be ionizing the water as well as the tap water. Unfortunately, my ORP meter is on the blink and I’m waiting for my new one to come in. I’ll be doing some comparison videos soon.

Buy my new Athena Water Ionizer!

This was a fantastic decision! The Melody water ionizer is truly everything I’ve ever said it was: well-made, tests great for pH and ORP, great filtration, and it is the best water ionizer you can get for the price! However, the Athena is just a bit better. The bit better is mostly in the area of ORP. The Athena water ionizer gets a better ORP per unit of pH than all of the other water ionizers for drinking the healthiest water possible at whatever level of pH you’re able to drink it at.

Most people will work their way up to level 3 of the alkaline water [equivalent to 9.5 pH]. At this level the Melody [using my source water in St. Louis] gives an ORP of about -450 or so, while the Athena will give about -550 with the same source water. You only really need an ORP of -250 to -300 to provide your body with plenty of antioxidants, so the extra ORP is nice to have, but not necessary. So which one should you buy: an Athena or a Melody? I usually think if the person is young [under 40] you can get away with a a lot more than when you’re 55 or so. So my advice is simple. If you can’t afford the Athena, then get the Melody! But if you’re over 55, then try to find a way to afford the Athena. This is advice given very lightly, and with no intention to sway you in any direction. I’m telling you this, because I get asked by so many people. Actually, I love all the water ionizers, and they all give great pH and ORP [well beyond what they need to] and they’re all great priced! So the real advice is to get a water ionizer [if you don't already have one] TODAY!Wishing You Water Wellness!

Tyent 7070 and Melody Water Ionizers’ pH/ORP Tests Were Consistent @ Full Flow for Over Ten Minutes!

These results are impressive for both the Tyent 7070 and Melody water ionizers. It’s one thing to have the water ionizers compared for one single glass of water poured, but it’s totally conclusive to see that for about twelve minutes at full flow both these water ionizers performed so well. I would normally expect the pH and ORP of the water ionizers to fall off after a while. On the contrary, these tests over the 12 minute period of full-flow water ionization, show that both water ionizers got even better in their pH/ORP/rH results as time went on.

Wow! I didn’t expect to see such great results!

Then, after pouring at Level 3 for both water ionizers for so long, I tested Level 4 of the Melody and the Turbo-Level of the Tyent. The chart below shows all of these results.

How do the Melody and Tyent 7070 compare in these tests?

The Tyent consistently got better rH results. The smaller the rH the better, and throughout the testing the Tyent water ionizer did better than the Melody. I’m thinking this is because the Tyent 7070 water ionizer has 7 plates and the Melody has 5. The results were close though [on a scale of 0 to 42 the Melody and Tyent were about 1 point apart] so I’d say that’s close.

How Great are Water Ionizer Mesh Plates? Are they Better? Do Mesh Plates Ionize the Water Better?

Many water ionizers are using mesh plates today. It used to be that all water ionizers used solid plates, and of course there used to be very little selection of different water ionizer companies [and models] as there are today. We benefit from the vast array of water ionizer companies and large amount of competition in water ionizer selling, but on the same token, we can become too bombarded with INFORMATION too! This makes things confusing for people wanting to buy a water ionizer.

These wide varieties of choices, though, don’t bother me in the least. Why?

Because I’ve been drinking ionized water for so long (over 16 yrs.) that I’ve seen it all. I’ve been there and done that…so to speak, and the results are: no matter how you design & re-design water ionizers, they are going to give you great, healthy water. It’s like comparing TV brands. Some people are going to be more concerned with buying the absolute best TV and others won’t worry about it. Sometimes you just won’t know until the first “new design” breaks down. Just about all TV owners enjoy watching great TV for years, and when the new technology comes along, might trade in the old for the new…or keep the old one till it breaks. The person who spent hours, days or weeks making sure they got the very best deal, may get a better deal, but he may also get a lemon. It’s happened.

The fact is: the least expensive water ionizer I sell is twice as good as the water ionizer I started out with!

My first water ionizer, back in 1993, cost me $1,100.00 — expensive! But it was a much less well-designed water ionizer. The point of me saying this is …from the time I started drinking ionized water, I ceased to have allergies, colds, ear infections, strep throats, or anything at all negative [health-wise]. That’s with an inferior water ionizer!

We’ve had our new Melody now for about 9 months, and I have noticed that some spider veins that were appearing on my right leg are now going away. This is probably the negative ORP that’s doing this. The Melody water ionizer I have now gets about three times as good ORP as my old Ange water ionizer. So, the newer models, with the better ORP are a great plus! But, the bottom line is, all the water ionizers I sell are great…& so don’t worry so much! My one suggestion is to stay within your budget.

You don’t have to spend $4000. on a water ionizer.

The Kangen water ionizer people [Enagic] will tell you that they have the best water ionizer and that’s because they have the most expensive one. Enagic will tell you how you have to have their water ionizer if you want the miraculous health benefits. However this is not true. All good water ionizers (which are the only water ionizers I sell) will give you similar miraculous health benefits. As a matter of fact, most of the research the Kangen Co. uses to sell their water ionizers was done with other brands of water ionizers [not the Enagic]. The majority of actual researchers they site are from years prior to the Enagic brand even being invented. The Enagic has only been out for 5 yrs. [since 2004] , so it’s ridiculous to think that all the 30 prior years worth of miracles didn’t happen.

The guy who started the Jupiter Co., for instance, was a multi-millionare whose health was failing. A friend introduced him to a primitive version of a water ionizer [this was about 30 yrs. ago] and within a year this man [Michael Moon] had regained his health. Now he was both rich AND HEALTHY. Guess which one he felt was better to be? That’s right! Healthy! So, people have been experiencing these miracles.

The only thing is that most of these people have not been Americans…due to the suppression of new natural health technology in America by the tycoons who profit from medicines, etc. Natural healing solutions tend to be suppressed in this country. So, the concept is very new to most people in this country.

When searching out the water ionizer you want to buy, keep alert for tricky sales techniques. On one website I was on this morning I found some pretty big untruths [AKA: Lies]. Not just one…several.

• The author stated that Life Water Ionizers had a choice of solid plates as an upgrade to their normal mesh plates. The author was very clear in saying that you had to pay extra for solid plates! Wow! Not TRUE! It’s actually the opposite: you have to pay an extra $100. for mesh plates in any Life water ionizer.
• The same author was saying that the Jupiter people made their mesh plates in large sheets, then electroplated them, then punched them and cut them. Again…Big Untruth! This guy was truly sincere sounding too! He was trying to make it seem that the Jupiter plate safety was in question. NOT TRUE AT ALL. Jupiter is the leader in electrode plate safety. The reality is that the Jupiter Co. stamps and cuts each plate first and one-by-one electroplates these mesh plates AFTER the cutting process. So every square fraction of a mm of surface area of the electrode is covered with a computer-accurate even coating. This ensures perfect plating to use for perfect water ionization. He also said the plates were made in Korea…not true…they’re made in Japan. Why he made such a deal about this was beyond me. Yikes! This author was either very sloppy in his lack of research or intentionally deceptive. Very bad show!
• The same guy, obviously an Enagic advocate (the author), was describing how awful electroplating was and how you needed to dip the plates for the best coating. The fact is …dipping the plates causes an uneven coating and is not a scientific way to coat the plates. This is why the Enagic company does not get as good pH and ORP for their ionized water, even though they have higher wattage and larger plates. They’re just not using as well-designed and engineered of a process as Jupiter.

I still sell the Enagic water ionizers, though. Don’t get me wrong…they’re great. But, so are all my other water ionizers…great!

When it comes to a choice between mesh plates and solid plates, I think that as long as your water ionizer has a great self-cleaning system, either type of plate will be good. Mesh will get a bit better pH and ORP, but usually costs more. The solid plate may last longer, but I don’t know. I know solid plates properly plated will last over 20 years…maybe over 30. However mesh plates are a newer technology. The theory (held by PHD scientists) is that the mesh plates will hold up as well as the solid plates.

Jupiter has a far better self-cleaning system, so that’s a company I tend to recommend more than Enagic. They sell both the Melody (with solid plates) and the Athena (with mesh plates). I like the Melody for the reason it ionizes really well (with great pH & ORP), cleans itself really, really well, AND it’s only $1,395.00.

I want to be able to know that my electrodes are free of scaling [calcium build-up] at all times…not just once every 6 months. That’s my bottom line.

For pH and ORP, [and more importantly: relative Hydrogen -- rH] though, the Athena outperforms all the others to date. Will the plates hold up as well as the solid plates? For that, we’ll all have to wait and see.
