The KYK Genesis Water Ionizer Just Tested Against the Enagic in What is Probably the Worst Water in the Country [Houston Texas] and guess what the results were?

The KYK Genesis 3000 water ionizer [KYK's newest 7-plate water ionizer model] beat the Enagic [Kangen Water®] water ionizer

…by “about half a point higher pH and more than 100 points stronger -ORP.  Plus the KYK Genesis offers two multistage filters to Enagic’s one single stage filter” [quote by Alderin Ordell, president of KYK's Water for Life].

I wouldn’t tend to just believe statements made by owners of companies, except for one thing…I have personally seen this myself. The KYK does beat the Enagic in the drinking quality of water [level of ORP per unit of pH] in the tests I’ve seen and done myself personally. The KYK Genesis 3000 is a design of the Director of Water Science and Research Center in Korea: Kim Young Kwi.  Dr. Kwi’s water ionizer has won the grand prize award from the National Convention of Science and Technology in Korea as well as numerous other prizes related to water ionizers.

More KYK Testing

Sep 11 · by Cathleen LoGrasso

I have recently posted several videos showing the testing of the KYK Genesis 7-Plate water ionizer vs the Tyent Turbo and this is the tail end of that testing. In the first video I test the KYK vs Turbo at level 3 and in the 2nd video I test both water ionizers at Level 4 [or in the case of the Tyent Turbo, it's called the Turbo level].

In the KYK the level 4 wattage goes up as high as 200 watts and in the Turbo it goes up to 280 watts. That’s a considerable difference in the highest wattage capacity and I wanted to see how much of a difference it made in the output of ionized water.

It should be noted that no water ionizer company recommends that drinking water should be at the highest alkaline levels as one would get at Level 4. The only real reason to want your water ionizer to output that high of an alkaline level is for cleaning greasy surfaces or soaking the oily pesticides off your vegetables.

That having been said, here are the videos:

Now, here’s the chart showing the water ionizer comparison results shown in the videos:

My evaluation is this:

In all of the testing I’ve done, the Tyent Turbo out performs the KYK Genesis water ionizer in:

  •  the ability to achieve the greatest pH [significant if you want to soak pesticides off of your vegetables],
  • the ability to achieve the lowest acidity output [from the bottom hose]. This is significant if you want to disinfect for germs.
  • The Tyent Turbo is also in the better rH at level 3. Both water ionizers are equal in rH at level 4, however the rH at level 4 is not applicable [because rH refers to the drinking water healthiness -- and you don't drink ionized water at level 4].

I hope that all makes sense! One further comment is that both water ionizers are very close in comparison to each other. I don’t think the differences are very significant. The Tyent got better results in my various series of comparison tests, but did not win by much. It should also be noted that the cost of the Tyent Turbo is now $2495.00, and the cost of the KYK Genesis 7-Plate is now $1695.00. I always look at cost when I make my water ionizer comparisons. It is something to consider.

*pH means potential Hydrogen and is measured by a logarithmic [each unit is a multiple of 10 of the preceding unit] scale from 1 to 14. When a substance is below 7 on the scale it is said to be acidic. When it’s above 7 it’s said to be alkaline. The blood is around 7.35 and must stay in a very narrow range of slight alkalinity in order to sustain life.

*ORP means Oxygen Reduction Potential. It basically stands for the proportionate amount of negatively charged Hydrogen ions [H-] existing in a substance. The easiest way to look at is …it’s the anti-oxidant effect that that substance is cabable of giving your body when you drink it.

*rH is “relative Hydrogen”. This test calculation shows the actual health benefits of the water tested. Many now believe that this is the most important factor contributing to good health.  Note: To find rH one uses pH and ORP measurements plugged into a formula. The formula is:  rH = ((ORP + 200) / 30) + (2 * pH). On a scale from 0 to 42 above 28 oxidizing (higher potential to damage the closer it gets to 40) and below 28 is reducing (anti-oxidizing)…the lower the better.

I’ve been comparing the KYK and Tyent water ionizers in my home in St. Louis, but I had the opportunity to take these two water ionizers with me on a trip last week so was able to compare them in South Carolina [Hilton Head Island area] which has a much different source water.

The tap water in St. Louis is a pH of 10 and ORP of +350 [usually] and the tap water in South Carolina at my dad’s house was 7.76 pH and +412 ORP. The differences between these two source waters were so great that I was very curious…

Would my KYK and Tyent Water Ionizers do as well in So. Carolina as in St. Louis? and…

How would the KYK and Tyent Water Ionizers compare with each other using the South Carolina source water?

Here are the videos and the chart of water ionizer comparisons:

My analysis of this is:

The Tyent and KYK are practically identical, however the Tyent Turbo at every level was a tiny bit better than the KYK Genesis 7 Plate.

Other Notes:

  • They both performed fantastically! I was so impressed, especially since the source water was so much different than St. Louis!
  • The KYK required more button-pushing to operate.
  • They both shut off for cleaning [causing me to wait while they cleaned themselves] — not too much time was spent on this though.
  • They both went into auto self-cleaning when I turned on the power supply.

I’ve just finished testing the KYK Genesis water ionizer in Clearwater, Florida, and got great, FANTASTIC, results!

I’ve had to do a little business and personal traveling last week and this week, so I thought I’d bring two water ionizers along and test them to see how they do. My first stop was Florida. I was so busy, that I could only test one water ionizer, so I picked the KYK [since I'm doing a big project on the KYK Genesis right now]. Circumstances were such that I didn’t even get a chance to hook the KYK up until Saturday [ yesterday] just before it was time for me to leave. My camera was all set to go, then the battery died! So I did test the KYK Genesis water ionizer, but unfortunately I have no video to share with you on this testing. Here’s the chart of the results:

Here’s my analysis:

  • Level 1 seems weak, however if you consider that you’re taking the ORP from a positive 565 and changing it to a negative 40 it is amazing, really.
  • Levels 2 and 3 are just fantastic! To get that high of a negative ORP for your drinking water [without having to jack the pH up too high -- is really, really exemplary!
  • Level 4 [highest alkaline]: This is a little on the weak side, compared with other 7-plate water ionizer testing. Perhaps it has to do with the source water. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t expect it to emusify oils at that level. So if you intend to soak vegetables to emulsify the pesticides and get your veggies completely free of these pesticides…I’m not sure you can do it unless you got a higher pH than about 11.
  • Low Acid Setting: Again, this is weak with this source water. The KYK was able to get higher extremes [a higher alkaline pH and lower acid pH] on Level 4 in St. Louis than in Florida. This isn’t anything against this particular brand of water ionizer, it has to do with the source water.

Look forward to more testing of the KYK Genesis this week. I plan to test and compare the KYK Genesis water ionizer and the Tyent Turbo water ionizer. So, stay tuned!

I’ve been conducting some tests of the KYK Genesis 7-Plate Water Ionizer and have some more videos and charts to share with you. Click here to read my first videos & blog post, which is of Levels 1 - 3 [both alkaline and acid waters are tested].

In this video I just wanted to re-do the testing at level 3 for the KYK Genesis, because in my last videos…though the results were good for the Genesis, the Melody did equal…or maybe even a little better. This didn’t make sense to me [because the Melody only has 5 plates and the Genesis water ionizer has 7 plates. So, in this re-test, the KYK Genesis had about the same results as in the previous test. pH =  11.04 & ORP = -809.

Here I have another video showing the KYK Genesis water ionizer at levels 2, 3, and 4. The data found is reported in the chart below the video. I have to say I'm disapointed that the KYK Genesis does not have the cleaning cycle that I thought it had. I will have to double-check this with the technicians on Monday, but as you can see in the video, the Genesis water ionizer does go into an acid wash cleaning cycle which requires the user to wait while the water ionizer is cleaning itself. This is probably no big deal for most people, but I like it when I don't have to be inconvenienced with waiting for my water ionizer to clean itself. I think that when children are around [pouring their own water] it’s a good idea to have a water ionizer that cleans itself well without making you wait for an acid wash.

My thoughts on this KYK Genesis water ionizer so far is that it has a fantastic rH [ORP for the level of pH] at levels 3 and 4. Why level one is not good, I’m not sure. I need to call the technicians anyway to find out why the literature says no waiting is needed for the Genesis water ionizer to clean itself but in fact you do have to wait for the traditional acid wash. I’ll fill you in on the answer to this when I find out. At the same time, I will find out if there are other settings I should have done in the set-up.

Overall, though, this is an awesome water ionizer, and I think it’s better than the Enagic. It appears to be about equal to the Tyent 7070 and Life 7600.

I will be doing more testing of the Enagic [who call themselves the Kangen Water Machine] as soon as I return to St. Louis on about the 1st of Sept. Next week I’ll share a little blurb about the KYK in Florida, and then I’ll do some extensive testing and comparisons of the KYK and Tyent Turbo in South Caronina. I can’t wait to see the differences with different source water! So stay tuned!

This week I have the pleasure and opportunity to compare the KYK Genesis 7-Plate Water Ionizer and the Jupiter Melody Water Ionizer! I’ll be videoing & blogging about it as I go.

This is the first of a series of videos about the KYK Genesis water ionizer. Here’s the first set of 2 videos, entitled: The KYK Genesis 7-Plate and the Jupiter Melody Water Ionizers Compared at Levels 1, 2, and 3. It is a 2-part video.

According to the above videos and chart, these two water ionizers are too close to call in the ability to ionize the water at these three levels. I have to say I’m surprised at how well the Melody holds up in these tests with 7-plate water ionizers. This Melody is over 10 months old too…so you can see it’s staying really clean too.

I will do more testing in further posts, plus I will soon be comparing the KYK Genesis with the Tyent Turbo…so stay tuned!

For some reason I’ve ignored the KYK company. I don’t know much about them, and really their website doesn’t have enough information about their manufacturer, history, years in business, how long making water ionizers, etc. And this is probably why I’ve ignored them up till now. However I recently viewed a 2-part video series in which the KYK Genesis, Tyent 7070 and Melody were neck’n'neck with each other on producing high quality alkaline ionized water.  In other words, the KYK Genesis didn’t do badly at all. As far as water ionizers go, I think the KYK Genesis with 7 large platinum-titanium plates and a good self-cleaning system looks great. Here’s an intro video on the KYK Genesis’s features. The features look pretty good.
