How Does Enagic Compare With Melody and Athena Water Ionizers?

How do you Compare Water Ionizers?
The real way to compare water ionizers is not spouting credentials or claims; it’s testing the water. That’s what I’ve done and will share with you here. I took the two water ionizers I’m most familiar with personally (The Jupiter Melody and the Enagic LeveLuk SD501), and added in the IonWays Athena (simply because in the Silver State Laboratory scientific and non-biased tests the Athena tested the best), and I drew up a large number of comparisons. I created a chart and four accompanying videos so that we would leave no stone unturned. Here is the link to that research: http://www.health-e-water.com/water-ionizers-compared-3.html
What was the Outcome?
I hesitate to say, because I think more research needs to be done. I invite more non-biased water ionizer fans or companies to do more testing. I’m constantly looking for non-biased testing, but it’s hard to come by. Most people have an agenda. But I will tell you tentatively, that I totally stand behind the Melody, a full 100% as being right up there in quality of water with the more expensive brands. This is amazing to me, because it’s only $1,375.00 [only 65% of the cost of the Athena (which so far shows up as being the best quality water)] and about 1/3 the cost of the Enagic [which tested about equal to the Melody]. You can also choose to install it under the sink with a $129.00 kit, I think that some will like that possibility.
Here’s another Food for Thought.
You might be thinking that research will eventually come up with better designs as time goes on. Let’s say five years from now. I’m sure that’s correct. That having been said, do not wait to get your water ionizer. No new design in the future will change the fact that these three water ionizers are all wonderful and create fantastically healthy water! Your acidic body, which is also full of free-radicals, is in need of help right now, before you start showing signs of illness or disease. If five years down the line you want to upgrade to a newer model, you still would have only paid between 50 cents and $2.00 [depending on which ionizer you buy] per day for all the healthy ionized water you and your family could drink! That’s a great bargain! It’s also smart-thinking to plan ahead to add years onto the life and health of yourself and family. And think of it this way, when the time comes to upgrade, you can give the older water ionizer to someone in your family who needs it! That’s what we did when we upgraded! What a great gift!
Will Enagic Re-design Their ionizers?
Absolutely! Without a doubt! They have to. First of all, honestly right now it’s a little annoying when you have to wait for your ionizer to clean itself. That kind of hassel can be easily solved with a re-design. Another thing, the extremely large plates cause the machine to require more electricity, but don’t cause better water (per my testing). As a matter of fact, the Emco Tech people may have a point when they say that in reverse the larger electric flow puts more wear and tear on the plates and so is a poor design [kind of like older tv's, computers, etc. where the better tech is the smaller tech.] Jupiter states that the mesh plates are better, because they make it possible to increase the surface area without increasing the plate size. Only time will tell on these theories. The Enagic filters are also pretty bare-basic and in time I bet the demand will require them to be upgraded too.
What If Money is No Object?
Then in that case, right now anyway, I’d recommend the Athena. This ionizer has state-of-the-art self cleaning and dual filtration systems and on top of that gets the best quality water per the non-biased scientific research testing that was done on several water ionizers by Silver State Laboratories. Even though The Athena is only about half the price of the Enagic, and you don’t care how much you spend, I still wouldn’t recommend the more expensive one, the Enagic, over the Athena. Not unless the Enagic Co. does some re-designing and starts getting some better test results. Of course for those who only want to see the faucet, the Delphi (at $2,645.00) is made by the same company and though I haven’t tested it, I could guess it’s water quality is as good as its sister-model, the Athena (at $2,095.00).
What are the Company Backgrounds?
The Enagic Company grew out of a specialty trade company (branch of Sony) and began making water ionizers in 1988. It developed the water ionizer it now uses in its US trade, the Enagic LeveLuk SD501, in Sept. of 2004.
The Emco Tech Company at that time was (and still is) the largest US distributor of water ionizers, having its origin in Korea in 1970 as Emco Tech and joined with research company Jupiter Dong Yang Science Co., Ltd. [research/manufacturing facility] in Japan in 1982. The facility in Japan is where they currently have 20 PHDs on staff and are continually researching, testing and ensuring the state-of-the-art in their water ionizers parts and designs.
Both companies have multitudes of certificates and awards, and both have their water ionizers in hospitals and clinics and are certified to manufacture quality medical equipment. The reason I include this information is to establish the validity and credentials of both companies and all three water ionizers.
Hope this helps!
