The hundreds of stories I hear, about alkaline ionized water, combined with my own experience of drinking alkaline ionized water for about 18 years, give me a unique perspective on nutrition, health, and dieting. In addition to having so much experience with my favorite nutritional booster [alkaline ionized water] I’ve also spent hundreds of hours of my free time over the years studying nutrition, health and dieting as a science. So, today’s blog is all about my personal thoughts and suggestions for…

Nutrition, Health, and Dieting as it relates to Alkaline Ionized Water.

Keep in mind that I’m not providing you with medical advice, just plain common sense as seen through my experienced eyes.

2nd Piece of Advice: Use Moderation

Moderation is important for both nutrition and dieting. I have a stable nutritional rule that works real well for me, and I’ll share that with you.

If it tastes so good “you can’t only eat just one” then stay away from it.

[Background: I might be dating myself, but remember that old "Lays Potato Chips" ad? The one where someone says, "it tastes too good to eat just one"? What a great advertisement for promoting addiction that ad was! With a slight variation I have it worked out for myself as a perfect mantre for helping me become aware of the worst things for my body: If it tastes so good "you can't only eat just one" then stay away from it.]

What is the cause of overweight?

Much of it boils down to poor nutrition, of course your body needs a certain amount of exercise, but in the short term over-weightness is related to a series of wrong choices of food consumption. Foods that don’t satisfy you are wrong choices of food to eat. Foods that are too tasty are probably also wrong choices if they are addictive in their tastiness.

Examples of Good Choices:

  • Ionized water [in abundance]
  • Whole, un-cooked, and un-juiced, veggies and fruits [in abundance]
  • Whole grains [in moderation]
  • Balance in foods consumed over the course of a day [proteins, carbs, etc.] [in moderation]

Poor Nutrition leads to poorer nutrition, and eventually poor health of course. It also can lead to obesity.

Examples of Poor Choices:

  • Soft drinks
  • Sugary foods
  • Refined Carbohydrates [or carbs in over-abundance]
  • Over-cooked vegetables [like what you get in cans]
  • Over-cooked meats [or meat in over-abundance]
  • Fats [in over-abundance] [chips, fries...]

To ensure good nutrition I suggest the following:

  • Drink plenty of alkaline ionized water. This will hydrate you, help get rid of toxins, help to protect your cells from free-radical damage [oxidation], give you more energy, and much more.
  • Don’t buy foods that are too tempting
  • Save your money and eat at home [rather than tempting fast-food places]
  • Limit the poor choices to none or almost none [depending on your will-power*].

*Surprising Insight into Will-Power: What I have found about will-power is that it actually takes less will-power to have none of certain foods than it does to have just a little of it. So if you think your will-power is low, then choose none of the poor-food-choice category. It’s easier to stick to. Sugary foods are an example of that kind of food for me. What I have to do is simply have none in the category of sweets whenever I want to lose weight. Whole, un-juiced and uncooked fruits are okay, but even allowing a little bit of refined, sugary foods opens the door [for me] for over-indulgence in the sweets department. If it’s any consolation, though, it takes about 3 days for your body to adjust to a new diet routine. If it’s a healthy diet routine, you should be on easy-street [in the cravings department] once your body adjusts to it.

Another Surprising Necessity Related to Losing Weight …

Is… to eat. Starving triggers the body’s mechanisms to store fat. You don’t want to trigger that. So eat. But eat in moderation.

So, If you are attempting to lose weight I suggest the following:

  • Eat. Do not not-eat. Do not starve. But, make sure to make good choices [see above] in what you eat.
  • Use moderation.
  • Drink lots of alkaline ionized water. [Advice for drinking ionized water: If you are mixing it with sweeteners, then do this in moderation. Don't do it with every glass. Do not heat the water...or if you do, then heat it infrequently. Heating loses most of the ionization benefits right away. Try to drink the ionized water fresh rather than hours old. Try to not blend or whip the ionized water. That causes you to lose much of your ORP [antioxidant benefits].]
    • Poor choices for mixing with ionized water.
      • Crystal-Lite
      • Cool-Aid
    • Good choices for drinks made with ionized water.
      • Squeeze a slice of fresh lemon, sweeten with Stevia, and mix slowly.
      • Steep a green-tea bag in room-temperature ionized water and sweeten with Stevia. Mix slowly.

What a pleasant surprise it was to wake up to all these great quotes from his friends. That got me to thinking…I’ve had some recent water ionizer related experiences that reminded me of how grateful I am for my water ionizer!

  • I was visiting my Dad [helping him] for the past two weeks. During that time I only had a portable H2Go water ionizer with me. High body acidity is caused primarily by the foods we eat and drink. Ideally out diet should be 80% alkaline, but in reality it’s usually just the opposite — about 80% acidic! Animal proteins, grains, dairy products, soft drinks, reverse osmosis water, coffee are all acidic. Diseases will flourish in an acidic body environment, however cannot grow at all in an alkaline one.

What is Alkaline Water?

Very simply stated, alkaline water is water which is above neutral (7.0 pH). Alkaline is the opposite of acid. On a range of 0 to 14, everything above the middle is alkaline. Therefore 7.2 is considered alkaline, even though you might also consider it in the “neutral range”. A neutral range is a very narrow range of from about 6.8 pH to about 7.2 pH. Our bodies consist mostly of water (for optimal health it should be over 70% water) and can only be healthy in a very narrow, slightly alkaline, range of about 7.36 pH.

Why is pH Important to Our Bodies?

The fact of acidic wastes getting stuck in our cells, impedes all cell functions. Our cells must be constantly bathed in slightly alkaline pH water in order to be hydrated and cleansed [draw the acids out of the cells]. Without enough hydration our cell wastes can’t get eliminated. This leads to most of America’s common illnesses [colds, allergies, diabetes, obesity, acne, indigestion, headaches, heart disease and cancer]. These diseases all have direct links to either lack of proper hydration and/or too acidic of a diet.

A water ionizer creates natural, clean, fresh alkaline water which can then provide us with both pH buffers and antioxidants. [A buffer is something which helps to neutralize something.] [An antioxidant is something which neutralizes oxidation.] PH buffers and antioxidants can extend the life of every living cell in our body.

Research has proven that cells can live far longer and healthier than we think. They need the right fluids and they need these to be replenished daily. Unhealthy water is acidic and/or full of chemicals, thus will not properly hydrate our cells. Soda is even worse; at about a pH of 3, it’s by far the worst liquid you can consume. People who drink soda, smoke, eat chips or other fatty foods, eat “junk food” or have stressful jobs all have one thing in common — acidic bodies. They need alkaline ionized water to provide buffers, antioxidants and balance to their body.

Ionized water provides our bodies with the healthy water it needs for longer cell life. Ionized water is alkaline and provides plenty of buffers to balance off the excess of acids our bodies must eliminate. It is recomended that you drink plenty of ionized water (preferably 8 glasses) per day from a water ionizer for your cells to live the longest and healthiest life possible.

What is ORP?

Oxidation

Oxidation is just a chemical reaction that occurs, and the result is the production of free radicals which are damaging to the cells. A free radical is an unbalanced oxygen molecule with an unpaired electron. It needs another electron to be stable and steals it from your cells. The cells of the apple are damaged when exposed to the oxygen in the air. Oxidation happening inside our bodies, causes lots of cell damage. Oxidation speeds up aging, causes skin to lose elasticity, weakens muscles, and causes cancer cells [mutated cells] to form. For better health oxidation needs to be combatted with anti-oxidants.

ORP stands for “oxidation reduction potential” …or reducing the oxidation, which is another way of saying anti-oxidant. You are probably familiar with the term anti-oxidant because vitamin C and E are anti-oxidants. With a Negative ORP you get lots of negatively charged Hydrogen to combine with the free radicals formed by oxidation. This makes them stable again and non-threatening to your cell health. When you say “negative ORP” that’s good — it reduces the oxidation [anti-oxidizes]. Positive ORP is bad — it increases oxidation [adds more free radicals to the mix]. Alkaline ionized water is powerful in that it gives you lots of negative ORP to combat cell damage all day long.

Alkaline Water Ionizers Do Several Important Things:

  • Gives you the right pH for your water so that you have lots of buffers to allow your cells to rid themselves of their acidic wastes. Without constant buffers, your cells must hold in these acidic wastes or rob some buffers from your joints or bones. Wastes can also be dumped into fat cells and cause obesity.
  • Makes the water wetter! Alkaline water ionizers break the water down from larger clusters of water molecules to smaller ones. By doing this, the smaller clusters are more able to pass through cell membranes and enter the cells. So, hydration can even get better by making the water wetter!
  • Antioxidizes. The alkaline water ionizers we sell on our website all increase the ORP (oxigen reduction potential) which is another way of saying “increase the antioxidant potential”. Free radicals are molecules that are missing an electron and therefore are unstable. To become stable a free radical must find an electron. They will often steal the needed electron from healthy cells — damaging them or altering their DNA. Free radical damage has been directly linked to cancer. Alkaline ionized water contains huge amounts of OH negative ions [molecules that have an extra electron] making an alkaline ionized water a very powerful antioidant.
  • Filters out the chlorine, other unhealthy elements or impurities and removes 85% of fluoride, but allows the good minerals (such as calcium) through.
  • Improves taste. Alkaline ionized water is alive-looking and great tasting! Far superior to the water that comes out of your tap.

Even with a water ionizer it is probably uncommon to NOT gain weight over the holidays! So what do you do?

If you know anything about ionized water, you probably are aware that by drinking alkaline ionized water you provide buffers to your body which helps you get rid of acid wastes [including fats] in your cells. Without the benefit of alkalinity that ionized water gives you, you may hit plateaus where you just quit losing weight! So, a water ionizer is a great help to anyone trying to lose weight!

It’s important to realize that ionized water isn’t enough stimulus for weight loss all by itself. My 17 1/2 years of experience with ionized water tells me you need a few more things. I’d like to share these weight loss tips with my blog readers, so here it goes [please remember these are tips from me to you -- not medical advice]:

  • Drink at least 1 gallon of ionized water per day [spread throughout the day]
  • Don’t diet without determination! A yo-yo diet [gaining/losing/gaining/losing] is unhealthy, so if you start into a diet, do it “cold turkey” and do not allow even the slightest deviation from the routine. Realize that once you arrive at your target weight, you will need to establish and follow a long-term eating routine that keeps you at that weight [except maybe when you go on a cruise or have a vacation or holiday come around].
    • If you find yourself time after time cheating [because you don't have enough determination and/or control -- which IS needed] then pay for a weight loss program.
    • You do need determination and strength, and for some people that is easier than for others.
    • I will suggest one thing, that if you think you can just cheat here and there and still lose your needed weight — think about your past history. Has this approach or attitude worked for you in the past? If so, then you don’t need to read this blog post. But be honest with yourself; most people need to be strong and unwavering in order to actually lose those needed pounds and keep them off.
  • Establish a 3-meal-per-day [and 1-2 snacks if desired] plan for yourself. Here is the plan that works for me [which I am doing right now]! For some reason, I don’t feel excessively hungry on this diet, and I can go for several hours without thinking of food. Keep in mind your body usually has an adjustment period when you change diet habits. If you hang-in-there for about 2-3 days, you’ll get through this adjustment period. So, if on ”Day #2″ you have hunger pains, maybe add a small snack…i.e. apple, to help you through it. Don’t despair. This type of thing should only be temporary. Hunger pains are the kind of thing that go away once you’re grooved into your new diet patterns within about 2 or 3 days. 
    • Breakfast:
      • I have 1 egg boiled or fried in water or a little PAM
      • I have about 1/2 cup fresh uncooked veggies [I use cauliflower, but you could substitute broccoli, celery, lettuce, spinach] [stay away from peas, potatoes, corn, and canned veggies]
      • I have no salad dressing [you could use maybe a little vinegar...no oil]
      • I have 6 wheat saltines [you could substitute another kind of no-fat cracker]
    • Lunch:
      • I have 3-4 oz. lean meat [like chicken, tuna, turkey]
      • I have about 1/2 cup fresh uncooked veggies [I use cauliflower, but you could substitute broccoli, celery, lettuce, spinach] [stay away from peas, potatoes, corn, and canned veggies]
      • I have no salad dressing [you could use maybe a little vinegar...no oil]
      • I have 6 wheat saltines [you could substitute another kind of no-fat cracker]
    • Dinner:
      • I have 3-4 oz. lean meat [like chicken, tuna, turkey]
      • I have about 1/2 cup slightly-cooked veggies [I use cauliflower, broccoli, celery & a couple of little carrot pieces] [You could substitute lettuce, spinach, etc... but stay away from peas, potatoes, corn, and canned veggies]
      • I have no salad dressing [you could use maybe a little vinegar...no oil]
      • I have 6 wheat saltines [you could substitute another kind of no-fat cracker]
    • Snacks: I don’t always feel a need for a snack, and when I don’t …then I don’t have a snack. But if I’m too hungry in between meals or even when it’s close to bed time….I’ll have one of the following [however not more than twice per day]:
      • apple [I usually choose this, but the others are okay too]
      • banana
      • orange/or grapefruit
      • pear
      • strawberries
      • [no grapes, cherries, or dried fruit]
  • You may need to adjust this to suit your desired weight. I’m 5′7″ and my desired weight is 135 lbs. A 6′ tall man, for instance, may need double the amounts I’m consuming.
  • Once you get close to your desired weight [within 5 lbs.], then you should begin to add extra food and exercize into the mix. I’m not a good exercizer, so I’ll leave those tips for someone else to give. However, I believe that any kind of hard work [gardening, painting, cleaning] is a good potential substitute for the exercize your body needs.
    • For extra food: A little at a time [like maybe one portion of one of the following items extra per day], add some salad dressing, bread, mayo, and fattier meats. Continue to add a little per day [and even increase some of your above portions] until your weight loss stops at your desired weight. Take your time getting back slowly to a more normal eating routine. Spread this out over about 3-4 weeks.
    • Once you start adding things to your diet, you may find yourself still losing …even beyond your desired weight. This is not a signal to start over eating. Just continue to add a little more portions or items at a time until you are stabilized. You can also add a sweet [like a desert or something] here and there. Watch the scale and be ready to backtrack if you’ve added too much.

What Do Water Ionizers Have to Do With Weight Loss?

Water Ionizers provide you with alkaline water which helps you to lose weight. It particularly helps eliminate “plateaus” in losing weight. When you lose weight the fats that come out of your cells must go into the bloodstream to be eliminated, but sometimes your body won’t let this happen. Body fat is acidic and full of toxins. Alkaline water buffers the acids and safely promotes removal of the acids and toxins from your body. “Safety” is the key word here. Your body is not going to allow any fats or toxins to be eliminated if it perceives it as a threat. So, that’s why buffering is a must. Weight management is a touchy subject, and losing weight is definitely easier for some people than others, however for me weight management has been consistently easier since I purchased my first water ionizer back in 1993. I am no longer touchy about weight loss, because I know if I go on a cruise or other vacation whatever weight I gain will be able to come off…I’m not worried about it anymore. Drinking ionized water has definitely given me a real advantage in achieving my weight management goals.

I always keep my eyes open for natural weight management truths. While it’s true that ionized water is part of the answer to effective and long-term weight management, it’s not the whole story. Why Did I Decide to Sell Water Ionizers?

I have been drinking alkaline ionized water for 16 years and I have found it to be the best nutritional-related thing I’ve ever done! Actually, nothing in the past 36 years of research and investigation into nutrition and natural healing has come close to this in simplicity and truth…in what your body needs to be healthy [in a basic nutritional sense]. When you find something that really works, it tends to simplify your life.

Why is Fat Important to Our Bodies?

The fat in our bodies is not so much a problem of heredity or over-eating [although these I’m sure are factors] as it is a problem of eating too many acid-forming foods and drinking overly acidic beverages. Fat actually saves us. And here are the facts behind that statement.

Our bodies are acidic.

Research shows that diseases thrive in an acid environment. The modern fast-food diets we eat, sodas we drink, and stressful lifestyles we live only make that acid environment inside our bodies worse over time.

The pH of our blood must be kept in a very narrow range of 7.365 (not more than 7.4 or less than 7.3!)

This is a very narrow range! On a scale of 1 to 14 (the ph scale) 1 is at the extreme of acidity and 14 is at the extreme of alkalinity; 7 is exactly neutral. So a 7.365 is slightly alkaline. That delicate ph balance is so crucial to life that if it goes even slightly low or high we lose energy (instantly)…if it went lower than 6.9 you could go into cardiac arrest! That’s how sensitive our body is to the ph of the blood! When a person is brought into an emergency room, one of the first things they check is the person’s pH balance, because a person can go into a coma with a pH balance drop of one or two points below 7.365!

Most Americans eat too much acidic-forming foods and drink too much acidic drinks.

No wonder people are buying and eating things like Rolaids and Tums like candy. Another thing that produces acid in the body is anger and worries. By continuing to eat and drink high-acid forming foods and drinks, and on top of that worrying and getting angry… we are contually adding to the problem of creating an acid environment in our body for diseases to thrive in.

Our body organs and tissues are just as healthy as the health of their individual cells,

and our bodies are just as healthy as our organs and tissues. When the body becomes acidic, we develop all kinds of sicknesses. Below the level of our immediate awareness our cells, tissues and organs are being infested with acids and free radicals. This comes to our cells from the foods we eat, the air we breathe and what we drink. Acid wastes from our cells, tissues and organs can’t be released into the blood and make their way out of the body unless our body has enough alkaline in it to create a neutral balance. With most people, many wastes sit in the cells for long periods or forever waiting to be eliminated. The longer acid wastes stay in the cells the greater the chances of diseases or mutations (cancers).

What does this have to do with body fat?

When you consume food and beverages that are overly acidic, your body does everything it can to get these acids out of the blood [as explained above the alternative is death]: 1. First, it dumps the acids into fat cells immediately. This process if very fast and efficient, and so it’s used abundantly to solve the problem of “too many acids” in the blood. This fat-dumping process allows us to store the acids for later use in digestion or as a buffer for alkalinity and more importantly it keeps us from dying. While we’re saved from dying, what also occurs is obesity, because our bodies cannot use this much fat storage. So, one consequence of an overly acidic diet is obesity. Fat saves us in that it encapsulates the acids, is a place for them to be put “safely” (out of the blood, cells and tissues), and so avoids instant coma or death. 2. The second thing your body does to “save you from imminent death” is to suck the minerals out of your joints and bones, which helps to buffer the acidity and maintain the neutral/slightly alkaline pH needed to protect us from death. Your body does both of the above things very efficiently every time you eat and drink acid-forming food.

With death at stake, the body does everything it can to maintain the correct ph level in the blood. When you’re young you have lots and lots of buffers available, and so you don’t noticeably feel the affects of an overly acidic diet adversely affecting you, although many childhood colds and allergies (and obesity) are simply symptoms of this. But, as a child you bounced back easily. However, as you age, your buffers are nearer to depletion in your joints, and your bones begin to be robbed regularly. That’s where we see increased symptoms and less ability to “bounce-back” from: low energy (which could be interpreted as apathy or lethargy), tumors, various diseases, cancers, etc.

In addition to the problem of over-acidity caused by foods and moods, the processes that take place within each cell of our bodies (cell functions) give off wastes, which are acidic. This is just natural to every cell. To enable proper cell functions, the cells need to be cleaned of these wastes continually. Without a proper supply of alkaline buffers (as in alkaline water) the blood will rob the joints and bones of minerals to supply the body with buffers to enable these wastes to enter the blood and be eliminated.

The consequence of not eliminating these wastes is disease! And, fat is one way the body has to eliminate these wastes. So, this is another way that fat saves us. It saves us from diseases.

Can we avoid the necessity of using fat as a solution to death and disease?

Yes, we can eat more alkaline foods and drink alkaline ionized water! Research shows that most diseases stem from our failure to drink enough water …and the right kind of water. The alkalinity and ionization of the water is crucial to what the body needs for hydration and health.

It is a well known medical fact that a person with cancer has a very acidic body. It is clinically proven that cancer cells thrive in acidic environments, and they do not grow in alkaline environments.

What is ionized water?

To ionize means to gain or lose an electron. The ionization process takes an electron from one oxygen molecule and transfers it to another oxygen molecule. That now carries an extra electron which then becomes a hydroxyl ion. When you have a good amount of negatively charged hydroxyl ions in your water, the pH of the water is raised to above 7.0. Too few of these electrons gives you a pH below 7.0. This can easily be tested with pH testing strips or solutions or more sophisticatedly be tested with a pH/ORP* meter. A balance of equal amounts of these electrons gives you a 7.3 pH, which is the exact pH required by life. [This is the pH our bodies were born with. A 7.365 pH is the only pH possible for sustained life, and is the pH level of our blood necessary for survival from birth to death.]

Alkaline ionized water helps to detoxify the body by providing an alkaline buffer and inhibits acid wastes from further build-up in the body. It tends to stabilize blood pressure and adds to increased energy and longevity.

Ionized water does many things. Water that has been ionized has had the cluster size reduced from clusters of 13 or 15 H2O molecules down to 5 or 6 per water-cluster. So this water goes into our cells more efficiently. It hydrates our cells more efficiently. Also ionized water escorts oxygen and negative ions (OH-) (antioxidants) into our cells and tissues more efficiently.

Our organs and glands can be much more functional if the free radicals and acid coatings are eliminated. That’s where alkaline ionized water comes in. Alkaline ionized water is the only water that will actually allow the break-up and elimination of acids and fats on or in the organs, glands and tissues.

How do we break up and eliminate fats and acids?

Because free radicals and acidic waste cells have a positive charge. We need the negatively charged molecules from the alkaline ionized water to bind with the positively charged molecules so they can be eliminated from our bodies. It is the negative charge along with the alkalinity which allows the ionized water to bind to the positive molecules (acids and free radicals) which surround our tissues and organs. In addition to helping us eliminate our excess fat, ionized water has a very low atomic weight and the process of ionization helps it to become the most absorbable antioxidant we know of.

The kind of water we drink makes a big difference on every living cell in our body. Research has proven that cells can live far longer and healthier than we think. They need the right fluids and they need these replenished daily. Unhealthy water is acidic and/or full of chemicals, thus will not properly hydrate our cells. Healthy water must be alkaline to balance off the excess of acids our bodies must eliminate.

Alkaline ionized water is the only kind of water that can actually reverse the fast-aging and disease-ridden spiral of people who suffer from acidic bodies [which is almost everyone in the USA].  It will neutralize the acidity of your body eventually if you continue to drink alkaline ionized water every day. Ionized water also improves the circulation and helps de-toxify your body, thereby improving your overall physical health.

 

It’s not a matter of “Can you afford an alkaline water ionizer?”, it’s a matter of “Can you afford not to have one?”!

*ORP stands for oxygen reduction potential. In the body active oxygen (free radicals) attack and destroy cells (at the cellular [DNA] level). We cannot stop oxidation completely. But we can slow it down. You need lots of anti-oxidants daily to combat the attacks from free radicals. The term ORP is a synonym for “anti-oxidant”. In Japan, for an antioxidant substance to be considered strong enough to be medicinal in hospitals it has to have an ORP of a negative 300 to negative 400 milivolts (ORP). The farther it goes on the negative side, the stronger its anti-oxidant capacity. Tap water and bottled water all measure upwards of +200 on the positive end of the scale. In otherwords these waters all contain positive oxidants (free radicals) and are not anti-oxidants by their nature. Alkaline ionized water is the only water that has a negative ORP and so has an anti-oxidant value sufficient enough to be considered medicinal in Japan. You need alkaline ionized water to supply yourself with these anti-oxidant/anti-aging benefits. Not only does alkaline ionized water supply your cells with free-radical scavengers (anti-oxidants) but it does it very quickly and efficiently. The nature of water, having no calories and perfect for instant absorption into cells, means that it bypasses digestion entirely. This makes alkaline ionized water a much more effective antioxidant in that none will be lost to digestion, unlike what happens with fruit juices and vitamin tablets or capsules.

Water ionization is the first (and probably most important) step toward achieving an alkaline diet. It’s so satisfying and healthy to drink nice, fresh, alkaline ionized water straight from a fantastic water ionizer [such as a Jupiter Melody water ionizer, an Athena, a Life 7500, an Enagic, a Tyent 7070 or a Venus water ionizer]. But there are other things that you can also do to make your diet more alkaline.

Grapes are Good!

Grapes, apples, LEMONS, limes, strawberries, grapefruit, mangoes, melons, pears, papayas, pineapple, peaches, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes and cabbage are all fantastic foods for many reasons. First of all, they are full of wonderful alkaline water! They’re also bursting with enzymes! They can be eaten fresh! You should eat a certain percentage of fresh fruits and vegetables daily…because cooking destroys enzymes and vitamins.

When you eat alkaline forming foods, the food, prior to digestion, could be acidic, but the result after digestion is an alkaline effect on your body. So there is some truth to that old saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away!”

Can Calcium Build-Up Affect a Water Ionizer’s Performance? Yes! It absolutely can. And, here’s why…

A water ionizer creates two streams of electrolyzed water: alkaline and acid. The alkaline water is rich in Calcium. Calcium is good for you and contributes to creating alkalinity in the water, but is also a naturally occurring crystalline mineral which creates lime. Lime is another name for Calcium Oxide [formed from a reaction with calcium and the oxygen in the water]. Because of its crystalline structure, Lime tends to scale up on the inside of pipes…and will clog up the inside of your water ionizer if you don’t have a good method of cleaning the plates and pipe works on a regular basis. Research shows that the consumption of alkaline ionized water reverses the acidity in the body tissues and organs which leads to disease and as such leads to reverse-aging. It is a well-known fact that diseased organs are acidic. Therefore, it follows that to reverse the acidity of the organs and tissues in the body could reverse the course of diseases.

 Dr. Otto Warberg (Nobel Prize Winner, 1932) stated that “Cancer is caused by the lack of oxygen and the fermentation of sugars.” This is due to a low pH acidic environment.

Why does ionized water help the overall health of both animals and humans? There are several reasons:

  • Alkaline ionized water is alkaline (obviously) and therefore enters more alkalinity into the body cells, tissues and organs. This allows the buffering effect to take place. This further allows toxins (acids) to leave the cells, tissues, and organs and be flushed out of the body. Thus, alkaline ionized water produces in the body a healthy state of slightly alkaline pH, and research shows that fungus, cancer and other disease pathogens do not thrive in an alkaline state, they do well in an acidic state.
  • Alkaline ionized water, being water (and not having calories), does not require digestion, and thus bypasses the digestive system and goes straight to the cells, tissues and organs needing hydration. An example of this: If a person who is constipated is directed to drink 16 to 32 ounces of alkaline ionized water and wait about 20 minutes, they will see a dramatic effect in hydrating the tissues in the rectum which will in turn allow the elimination process to occur. 
  • Alkaline Ionized water is reduced in cluster size to about half the size of what comes out of your tap. This contributes to the cells, tissues and organs ability to absorb that water and thus achieve the hydration needed to reverse the diseased condition.
  • Alkaline ionized water is run through a sophisticated filter which removes the harmful chemicals and substances from the water, but allows the good minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) to pass through.
