Here are some comprehensive video demos for the new AlkaPod portable water ionizer. I have to say, that for a little portable water ionizer these results are very impresive! The results for a regular water ionizer would, of course, be even more impressive, but it’s nice to know that you can get these kinds of results with this small portable water ionizer!

AlkaPod Portable Water Ionizer: Summary of Video Demos

Test 1 – pH Testing
Alkaline water can help to counteract the acidic wastes in the body, improving the pH balance and overall wellness.
1. Take two clear glasses. Pour regular drinking water from the tap or a bottle into the left container.
2. Pour water from your AlkaPod into the right container.
3. Add 3 drops of pH reagent into both containers.
4. Yellow color shows acidity or green shows neutral. The blue or purple color shows a strong alkaline pH.

Test 2 – Dissolved Oil Test
Shows how well fatty substances dissolve or emulsify in the treated water from your AlkaPod.
1. Pour the same amount of any type of edible oil into two clear gasses.
2. Pour regular drinking water into the left container.
3. Pour water from the AlkaPod into the right container.
4. In the left container the oil and water are separated. In the right container the oil is emulsified.

Test 3 – Neutralization of alcohol acidity
1. Pour some water from your AlkaPod into a container and add 3 drops of pH reagent.
2. Pour a small amount of distilled spirit into the container and see how it instantly becomes very acidic.
3. Pour some more energy water from your AlkaPod into the container and see how the acid fluid is counteracted and a good pH restored.

Test 4 – Neutralization of acidity caused by cigarette smoke
1. Simulate a healthy fluid by pouring some water from your AlkaPod into a glass container then adding a few drops of pH reagent.
2. Have a smoker blow smoke into the container then swirl around so that the smoke is absorbed into the water. Notice how the pH of the water is changed into a toxic acid.
3. Pour some more water from your AlkaPod into the container and see how the pH changes back to alkaline.

Test 5 – Neutralizing Acidity from Glucose (sugar) Test
1. Pour some water from your AlkaPod into a glass container and add 3 drops of pH reagent.
2. Pour some glucose into the container and see how the water becomes very acidic.
3. Pour more water from your AlkaPod into the container until it converts back to alkaline state.

Test 6 – Testing Instruments
ORP Meter – is used to test the Oxygen Reduction Potential. If this value is negative then water has an abundance of free electrons and can help as an antioxidant to neutralize free radical damage.
TDS Meter – is used to test the dissolved mineral content in the water.
Conductivity Meter – is used to test the water’s conductive properties..

Bottled Water vs. Ionized Water | There is no Comparison!

In this article, I’ll explain why ionized water is a far better choice than bottled water.

Let’s start with ORP.

ORP stands for oxidation reduction potential: which is another way of saying anti-oxidant potential. Here is a chart that shows the ORP of  58 different kinds [brands or sources] of water. Of all the bottled waters the range of ORP is about +350 to +600 on the average. That means you are getting one heck of a lot of free radicals through your water.  Note: tap and well water sources are also in this high range of ORP.  If you look on the chart, at the “Jupiter Science Water” row, you’ll see that the ORP of ionized water using a water ionizer from Jupiter Science is up to -850 [and this will vary according to the source water used]. That’s an incredible difference! With a negative ORP of even -300 it is considered a medical grade of ORP. With this kind of negative ORP you can really antioxidize and get rid of the free radicals in your body!

Now let’s take a look at pH.

PH stands for potential Hydrogen. It is another way of saying how acidic or alkaline a substance is. Our bodies need a slightly alkaline pH [7.365 pH] for health, however this is very challenging for our bodies to do with our modern diets. Without the proper buffers for the alkalinity our bodies need, our bodies have no choice but to rob our joints and bones of calcium to buffer the poisonous acid wastes produced by our cells.

If you look at the pH of the bottled water in the above chart, you’ll see that there’s a wide range of pH in these waters. The lesser expensive water, such as Aquafina, is acidic [5.96 pH], and while some of the spring waters are alkaline, watch out! Because many of the spring waters are gotten from valley springs [which tend to be acidic]. If you need to drink bottled water, look at the lable and try to get the mountain spring water. Make sure the word “mountain” is in the description [otherwise surely it is NOT mountain spring water]. To really provide enough buffers for most modern day diets, I think people should drink water at a pH higher than 9 if possible. The only water on the chart that has a pH higher than 9 is the Jupiter water ionizer’s ionized water. And, that can get up to 11 pH!

Sometimes, it’s true, you do need to drink bottled water.

So here’s what I would do if I were going out of the country, and didn’t trust the water [or otherwise HAD to drink bottled water: I'd bring my Waterman Portable Water Ionizer [little 1-cup water ionizer that doesn't use electricity] and pour mountain spring water into it. I think that would be the best and safest water for traveling into places where I didn’t trust the water. The Waterman Pitcher is so inexpensive and lasts for 800L [you can also refill the cartridge for another 800L for even cheaper], so I think this would be something that anyone could do!

Finally, last but not least, the amount of waste produced by all those bottles isn’t good for the environment.

Even if you recycle, there is a lot of energy waste and pollution caused by so much plastic. The statistics are: a lot of those bottles do not get recycled. Food for some green thought.

Why Did I File this Post Under Hydrogen Stick?

I filed this post under Hydrogen Stick, because as soon as I tested the Waterman Portable Ionizer Pitcher and saw how well it did – instantly – I thought of the Hydrogen Stick and how poorly that did. I tested and tested and tested the Hydrogen Stick and couldn’t get enough pH/ORP change [even after a full day of soaking] to justify even considering selling it on my site. It just didn’t get results. I was so hopeful too [because so many people could have been helped without having to chuck out so much cash upfront] …but no results are no results. I bought the Waterman Portable Water Ionizer Pitcher so I could test it and see how well it ionizes the water…and of course use it.  Well, I’m pretty impressed! This little portable ionizer pitcher does a great job of ionizing the water.

First, let me tell you just a little about the Waterman Water Ionizer Pitcher. It has a central cartridge which contains alkaline minerals, silver activated carbon, somelite coral sand, magnets, bioceramics and filter media. This little water ionizer which doesn’t even plug in filters out 99% of chlorine, heavy metals, bacteria and 85% of fluoride. Then the Waterman Portable Water Ionizer actually remineralizes with good alkaline minerals. After all that the water ends up ionized.

As you can see, the results of the testing was fantastic! The tap water started out at +350 ORP and just by funneling down through the central cartridge, it transformed to a sensational negative (antioxidizing) -130 ORP with no electricity whatsoever…just gravity! Wow. And it happened instantly! This means you could take this with you hiking, boating, to work, and even onto an airplane! I wish I had this last week! I hate the RO water they give you in the airplane!

And one final thing: this petite in size, but giant in effectiveness, portable water ionizer will continue filtering water for about 800 liters! That’s a long time. 

This is just one more reason not to buy the Hydrogen Stick!

Does this replace the need to buy a regular water ionizer? NO, NO, NO, NO……Really, NO!  This does not replace a regular water ionizer. It’s like getting a bike instead of a car. The car will take you farther, faster, and in the long run will save you money [because of all the time you save], but it has a bigger upfront cash output. Would I ever tell you to get a bike instead of a car? NO WAY. But if you were broke…I may suggest you plan to get both. Start with the bike and save up for the car.

Comparing the pH and ORP of the Waterman Portable Water Ionizer Pitcher with the Melody Water Ionizer after 2 1/4 Hours

There were a few things I was still wondering about after I did my last testing, video and blog about the Waterman Portable Water Ionizer Pitcher.

First of all, I wondered if my ionized water from my Melody water ionizer would be improved by pouring the already ionized water through the Waterman pitcher to ionize it some more. My prediction was that it would be improved by this, but maybe only a little (because the Melody already ionizes my water really well!)

Secondly, I wondered if over time (around an hour — give or take) the pH and ORP of the water ionized with the Waterman Portable Water Ionizer Pitcher would drop just a little or would the ionization effect drop considerably. Also, since I was setting up a third test of pouring the Melody ionizer’s ionized water into the Waterman ionizer-pitcher, I wondered how this pH/ORP would hold up over time as well.

I’ve run out of time to evaluate this with a chart. I’ll include a chart in the next blog. But, the bottom line is…The Melody (as I suspected) is far better than the Waterman. The Waterman is far, far, far better than tap water. And to get the convenience of a water ionizer wherever you go, I would suggest you get yourself a Waterman Portable Water Ionizer to bring with you. It is impressive to me and is something that, now that I know how great it is, I don’t want to be without.

The small, portable water ionizer filter/pitchers are a good idea. They don’t ionize the water as well (by far) as a regular undersink or countertop water ionizer would, but if you’re traveling, or away from home for more than 8 hours, you may run out of your ionized water. That’s where the portable water ionizer pitchers come in. There are two good ones (that I know of) and at some point I’ll buy them and test them. But right now, I’m just looking at the features they say they have and what-not and giving you the links to see the two products for yourself.
