Kangen Scam on Ebay:

Enagic LeveLuk SD501 water ionizer

Sold! $3001.00 [New!]

Scammers are Making the Enagic SD 501 Water Ionizer Harder for MLMers to Sell!

I knew there was a reason I didn’t like MLM [multi-level-marketing] and this is one reason why:

People pay a lot for the Enagic SD 501, and many of those people are trusting that they can at least recoup some of their money by selling their friends and associates a water ionizer, thus helping their friends and at the same time getting a commission on the sale. The way Enagic works is that you are at different levels, according to how many water ionizers you have sold.

  • 1A: If you’ve personally sold 1 or 2, you make $285. for each sale, plus you get about that much from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep.
  • 2A: If you’ve personally sold 3 or more, you make $570. for each sale, plus you get $285 – $570 from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep.
  • 3A: If you’ve personally sold 11 or more, you make $855. for each sale, plus you get $285 -$855 from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep.
  • 4A: If you’ve personally sold 21 or more, you make $1140. for each sale, plus you get $285 -$1140 from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep..
  • 5A: If you’ve personally sold 51 or more, you make $1425. for each sale, plus you get $285 -$1425 from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep..
  • 6A: If you’ve personally sold 101 or more, you make $1710. for each sale, plus you get $285 -$1710 from each of your down-line to the 8th level deep..

Here’s what happens with the Ebay scammers. They sell Enagic Kangen water Ionizers on Ebay for under the market value, getting no or little commission [giving it to the customer]. Then as they rise in “level” they make more money per sale, so offer greater and greater discounts [knocking out all competition]. As you can see, above, they can rise to great levels and make such great commissions that even though they’re greatly undercutting all of the competition they’re still making a good profit.

At the time of this writing there are a few people doing this. Here’s a link to a real-time listing where this seller is offering the Enagic Leveluk SD 501 Kangen Water Ionizer for $3099.99. http://shop.ebay.com/akawaid/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50 He’s clearly giving the buyer about a $900.00 discount. If he is at level 6A, above, then he is still making $800.00 on the sale! If at the time you read this post, this link doesn’t work, I’m sure you can find some other scammer doing the same thing.

Why do I say he’s a scammer? The reason is, he’s seeking to take unfair advantage of the thousands of people who follow the MLM rules. The success of any MLM depends on a unique product, that people need, that people will want to tell their friends about, and that has company rules, commissions and prices which are fair and followed. What he’s doing is violating the rules of his MLM agreement, but he’s not revealing his distributor name or ID on Ebay, so he’s getting away with it.

Many people just want to get a good water ionizer, and they’ve heard this is a good one. Since a good water ionizer will probably last 20 – 30 years the person might not particularly worried that this guy’s water ionizer isn’t coming with a warranty. They’ve heard that if something goes wrong with their water ionizer, then it’s usually no more expensive to fix than having a repairman for any other house-hold appliance [often cheaper], so they’re really not worried. But they’re trying to save money, and they don’t want to buy-into the MLM of Enagic. This all leads the person to want to buy from this guy on Ebay. Not everyone will do this, but plenty of people will. Money does talk.

Can the Enagic Sales Scam be Eliminated?

I doubt that the undercutting of authorized sales prices set by the Enagic Company will be stopped. It’s very hard to catch everyone who violates the rules on the internet. If you caught one guy, another 3 might pop up and take his place. That’s probably one reason why Enagic stays away from internet sales. However, I do believe that the company, Enagic, has a duty and responsibility to do everything they can to find these scammers on Ebay or other selling sites, who are trying to take unfair advantage of honest people who are following the MLM guidelines set.

In the meantime, if you’re reading this and wondering if you should buy from that guy on Ebay for a $900.00 discount…No. You souldn’t. The Enagic Kangen water ionizer gets half of its value from the MLM aspect. Without the potential of earning some or all of your money back, the $3,000. discounted price just simply isn’t a good deal. The Enagic LeveLuk SD501 is a good water ionizer, but it under-performs in comparison to the KYK, Melody, Tyent and the Athena. Plus, without the warranty, you have no way of being assured at all.

What is the Best Water Ionizer News from 2009?

The Improved Water Ionizer Warranties!

As we get ready to end our year 2009 it’s time to celebrate some of the highlights. Looking back over the year, I think the best change for the water ionizer industry ever is the introduction of “Lifetime Warranties”. What that does is give you, the consumer, the confidence to know that if your water ionizer breaks down prematurely, due to some design flaw or something beyond your control, you are protected! That’s great security!

Here’s a breakdown of the water ionizer companies and their warranty improvements [or not] for the year 2009:

Jupiter Water Ionizers:

Started the year 2009 with 5-year warranties, but now have Lifetime Warrantees!

The Jupiter Company water ionizers: Athena Water Ionizer, The Delphi, The Melody Water Ionizer, The Orion Water Ionizers, and the Venus Water Ionizer … all now come with Lifetime Warrantees! These are sold by Ion Life [the Melody and Orion] and Ion Ways [the Athena and Delphi], two related companies. Here are the links to the exact warranty cards so you can see for yourselves!

http://alkalinewaterplus.info/blog/uploaded/IonWays_Warranty_AUG_09.pdf

http://alkalinewaterplus.info/blog/uploaded/WarrantyCardIonLife-aug09.pdf

Chanson Water Ionizers:

Started 2009 with 5-year warranties and now are covered by Lifetime Warranties. Here’s the link for that:

http://www.chansonalkalinewater.com/chanson_ionizer_warranty

Life Water ionizers

Life water ionizers started 2009 with 5-year warranties with an optional 10-year upgrade [and 20-year warranty on their plates], and are now also giving Lifetime Warranties [but only if you follow their reasonable guidelines for water ionizer care]

http://www.alkalinewaterplus.com/life-water-ionizers

Tyent water ionizers

Tyent water ionizers started off with 5-year warranties. Tyent’s plates are now warrantied for 20 years, and Tyent gives the customer an option to purchase extended 10-year warranties.

KYK water ionizers

KYK water ionizer warranties haven’t changed, and KYK water ionizers are still covered by 5-Year Warrantees [but their prices have come down].

Enagic Water Ionizers

Enagic warranties haven’t changed, and Enagic [Kangen Water] water ionizers are still covered by 5-year warranties.

In this day and age when all of the water ionizer companies are competing with each other for your business, the consumers benefit. And these new warranties are an example of that.

Wishing You Water Wellness!

The KYK Genesis Water Ionizer Just Tested Against the Enagic in What is Probably the Worst Water in the Country [Houston Texas] and guess what the results were?

The KYK Genesis 3000 water ionizer [KYK's newest 7-plate water ionizer model] beat the Enagic [Kangen Water®] water ionizer

…by “about half a point higher pH and more than 100 points stronger -ORP.  Plus the KYK Genesis offers two multistage filters to Enagic’s one single stage filter” [quote by Alderin Ordell, president of KYK's Water for Life].

I wouldn’t tend to just believe statements made by owners of companies, except for one thing…I have personally seen this myself. The KYK does beat the Enagic in the drinking quality of water [level of ORP per unit of pH] in the tests I’ve seen and done myself personally. The KYK Genesis 3000 is a design of the Director of Water Science and Research Center in Korea: Kim Young Kwi.  Dr. Kwi’s water ionizer has won the grand prize award from the National Convention of Science and Technology in Korea as well as numerous other prizes related to water ionizers.

KYK Genesis 3000 [7-Plate Water Ionizer]

The KYK Genesis 3000 7-plate water ionizer [KYK's newest and best model] is now on sale through Monday only for a full 15% off the already reduced price.

That means you can get an award winning KYK Genesis 3000 with 7 platinum coated slotted plates for only $1440.75! Hurry! Sale ends Monday, Nov. 30th at midnight!

Here are some interesting water ionizer comparisons that were all done about 8 months ago by Ronnie Ruiz. Ronnie states in the following introduction to the video series that all of the water ionizers come out very similar in their numbers [i.e., pH & ORP] and I believe that’s true, too, with my own testing and with the testing I’ve seen others do for the most part. I also agree with Ronnie that not all water ionizer companies are tried-and-true. So, just because a water ionizer gets good results in pH and ORP that shouldn’t be the only test of a good water ionizer. If you look at the bottom of this post you can find out more about the different water ionizer companies.

In the following three videos and chart you can see comparisons between the Melody, Chanson VS 70 and the Enagic water ionizers. These are all clearly good water ionizers — doing the job that water ionizers should do.

Comparing the Melody, Enagic and VS70 Water Ionizers

11.33

-786

2.49

3.12

Vs70

10.23

-748

3.03

2.19

These are all good water ionizer results. Keep in mind that the ionized water drinking levels are not being tested here. The rH [Relative Hydrogen: Indicator of drinking water quality] is almost too close to call. On a scale of 0 to 42, an rH closest to 0 is the best. In the case of this test series that puts the VS70 as having a better drinking quality of water than the Enagic, but really the Melody, Enagic and VS70 are all exceptional in their drinking water quality. I wish that Ronnie would have thought to test the lower [drinking water] levels for each water ionizer he tested. [Note: I plan to visit LA in a few weeks, and I'll get a chance to do some big-major water ionizer comparison tests while I'm there...yipee! I've never had a chance to get my hands on a Chanson water ionizer yet, so this will be great!]

You can also see that the low-acid pH is very close between the Enagic and the VS70. The Melody’s low-acid is perfect for beauty water or watering plants, but I don’t know if it would kill germs. The Enagic and VS70 low-acid water would kill germs. The only thing with the Enagic, though, is that to get that low acid, you need to continually supply your ionizer with saline solution. That gets expensive, but then the Enagic is expensive, comparatively, anyway.

Ultimately, the stability of a water ionizer company can be seen in its certifications:

The Enagic Company grew out of a specialty trade company (branch of Sony) and began making water ionizers in 1988. It developed the water ionizer it now uses in its US trade, the Enagic LeveLuk SD501, in Sept. of 2004.

So, what’s wrong with Enagic?

The Enagic Company’s US Branch has a B- Better Business Bureau rating This is not so great [B-], however I see why this rating exists.

The Enagic company does not have a Satisfaction Guarantee. If you try their water ionizer and decide it isn’t any better than the Tyent or Athena water ionizer that’s too bad. If you return it after using it even once you’ll have to pay an $800.00 restocking fee.

Enagic is also a cutthroat MLM company that claims fame for all the good that water ionizers have done for people over these past 40+ years. Enagic MLMers are encouraged to engage in sharing rumors that have been told to them by leaders in the company and then passed on to the trusting people who don’t know any better. No other company is like this. Really! I think it’s amazing they haven’t been sued royally by now!

But what’s really, really wrong with Enagic is the lies!

Lie # 1…Enagic reps state that Enagic is the only water ionizer manufacturer certified to make and sell their water ionizers as medical devices. The truth is that many other water ionizer manufacturers have authorization and certification from their respective countries to manufacture and sell medical devices. The main standard that has been set for a water ionizer to qualify as a medical device used in the home is the ability to get greater than -300 ORP [which all of the water ionizers I sell can do]. By the way, the US AMA has not recognized water ionizers yet as a medical device. The lie in all this is that Enagic claims to be the only water ionizer that has this certification and recognition. This is totally false. You can see the certificates for each company below. I’ve included all the certificates held by every water ionizer company I represent to show that Enagic is simply average in this area. I’ve also included links to prove what I’m saying about the Better Business Bureau Ratings. Just from my own observation I can tell you that most water ionizer companies have better business practices than Enagic…but this offers further proof of that.

Which Water Ionizer Company has what Certificates? Here’s all the info!

Certificates Related to Manufacturing Practices Showing Conformity to Standards Set for the Manufacture of Medical Devices & Other Health Related Certificates [Note: The devices are certified by the country they are mainly manufactured in]:

  • KFDA: Korea Food & Drug Administration [GMP standards & authorization to manufacture and sell medical devises]: Jupiter, Life, Tyent
  • Japanese Ministry of Health Authorization to manufacture & sell medical devises: Enagic
  • Additional Testing and Validation of Filter Quality: KTR [Korea Testing & Research Institute] filters tested for results: Jupiter
  • Additional Testing and Validation of Filter Quality: NSF [National Sanitation Foundation International certified the calcium used in filters as in compliance with standards]: Jupiter
  • ISO [International Organization for Standardization] 14001: Jupiter, Life, KYK, Tyent, Enagic
  • ISO [International Organization for Standardization] 9001: Jupiter, Life, KYK, Chanson, Tyent, Enagic
  • CE [European Conformity]: Jupiter, Life, KYK, Chanson, Tyent
  • NRTL/CSA [Canada]: KYK
  • American Holistic Health Association: Life
  • 2009 Physicians’ Desk Reference® for Nonprescription Drugs: Life

Electrical Safety Certificates:

  • UL-USA [Underwriters Laboratory]: Jupiter, Life
  • UL-Canada [Underwriters Laboratory]: Jupiter, Life
  • CB: International Electro technical Commission: Tyent
  • Electrical Appliances Safety Certification of Korea: KYK

Business Practices — Conformity to Standards:

Lie #2: Enagic cutthroat reps [not all Enagic reps -- just the cutthroat ones] are stating that Jupiter doesn’t honor their warranty if you have hard water. The true fact is that you are supposed to care for your water ionizer no matter what make or model it is, and the industry standard is to request customers to use measures to protect their water ionizer if they live in a hard water area. If you don’t care for your water ionizer well, and this is discovered, you will receive a warning that you have to use an EOS device or other acceptable anti-scaling device or your water ionizer warranty will be invalid. All of my companies try to work with the customer, not against them, and giving fair warning is one very professional way of doing that. Here are some hard-water devices you could use to eliminate problems with hard water scaling.

  • EOS [Elimination of Scaling Device] is good for about 2-3 years and keeps your ionizer free of scale even in hardest water. It doesn’t add or take away anything from your water, instead as the water tumbles through the ceramics and other materials in the device it sculpts the calcium — smoothing it out mechanically — so that it is still calcium, but won’t stick to the insides of your water ionizer.
  • Scale-Block Pre-Filter is good for about a year and filters out calcium  [which is the cause of hard water scaling]
  • Ionizer Magnet lasts for life [about] and magnetizes the hard water elements making them repell from the walls of the tubes and plates in your water ionizer.

Lie # 3:  Another cutthroat lie I’ve heard is that “other water ionizer” plates are made in an unsafe way of coating large sheets of titanium with platinum and then cutting them [which would make the edges uncoated and not protected with the platinum...and subject to corrosion and leaching of metal into the water]. This is totally false for all the water ionizers I sell. I can’t speak for every water ionizer ever made, but I know the Jupiter, Life, KYK, Tyent, and Chanson water ionizer companies all use the industry safety standards of coating already cut plates and then coating them with platinum, baking, coating again, baking and so forth. If one of these companies years ago followed some other method, I don’t know. But today [at least for the past 2 years] these water ionizer companies all follow these standards.

Lie #4:  Another lie I’ve heard is that no other water ionizer gives the health benefits and magical healing powers that the Enagic gives. This is totally false. Even 40 years ago with the crudest of water ionizers, there were fantastic benefits being had by people drinking ionized water. Many of those water ionizers aren’t even sold anymore. The water ionizers being manufactured today are far better than those were and people from all over are reporting benefits ranging from cancer cures to allergy relief and diabetes regulation benefits. The list of benefits reported is immense and these claims are coming from people drinking ionized water from many brands and models of water ionizer.

Lie #5: Enagic claims that because it has the largest plate size it is the best water ionizer. This sounds like it should be true — they probably do have to use more Platinum…which could account for some of that extra charge, but the testing and comparing of all of the water ionizers does not show the Enagic to be making better water…so something must be wrong with the design. Electrolysis requires electricity to go through the plates, perhaps if they’re too large it defeats the purpose and actually gives worse electrolysis. Enagic reps tend to stay away from water ionizer comparison testing, however I’m lucky enough to have an honest friend who doesn’t mind if Enagic doesn’t come out the best…this is hard to do, because Enagic just doesn’t come out the best. The better water ionizer will get more negative of an ORP per unit of pH for the healthiest water. Enagic doesn’t get that in all the tests I’ve seen and done.

Lie # 6: Enagic claims that it has more disolved Hydrogen [making it healthier water] in their ionized water and they “prove” this by showing you tiny bubbles in their water that make the water look cloudy. I’ve seen some water ionizers that have produced this cloudy-bubbly-looking water and they haven’t all been Enagics. I’ve also seen Enagics not producing this cloudy-bubbly-looking water. This is not unique to Enagic, first of all. Secondly, the Hydrogen in the water …what they’re talking about is OH- [hydroxyl ions], and these are healthy for you, but it’s not necessarily going to be seen as cloudy water or tiny bubbles. You cannot measure OH- with your eyes. You can measure ORP with a meter and compare it in a ratio to the pH value of the water to find out proportionally how healthy the water is. This is called “finding the relative Hydrogen [rH] of the water”. I’ve done this with every water ionizer comparison I’ve done, and have not seen Enagic to be consistently better in its relative Hydrogen. Usually the best water ionizer for its relative Hydrogen is the Jupiter Athena water ionizer. See my Water Ionizer Comparisons page for more about this.

Enagic focuses these lies against other water ionizer companies as part of their publicity campaign. There are many more lies, but I hope you get the point. Smear tactics are not good business practice, especially if you’re stating lies [which there are so many of]. I would caution Enagic reps [most of whom are simply trying to sell, but ignorant of the real facts] to question everything told to them verbally on the weekly conference calls. Reps should ask for the statements to be put in writing [and see what happens]. Every statement about another water ionizer company should be accompanied with plenty of proof and should be written. Sometimes the “proof” is a lie, so if it’s written and a lie there is a greater chance of being sued. That’s why I say it should be written.

But here’s the main thing I want to say bad about Enagic and then I’ll get off my soapbox.

Enagic Reps Don’t Need to Focus on the BAD like that. There is so much good to be found about all the water ionizers I sell! I am amazed that Enagic higher-ups would even spend a second on these kinds of mud-slinging tactics. It took me a year of hearing these viscious, cutthroat, rumors to finally start fighting back. At first I thought it was a fluke. Then I’d hear the same story over and over, and so I’d know it was being promulgated somewhere. And, the sad thing is these lies are said with such authority and sincerity that many, many good people can’t help but believe them.

What’s the Good about Enagic?

The good about Enagic is the exact same thing that is the FANTASTIC GOOD about all the water ionizers I sell. Here’s some of it. Most water ionizer companies:

  • have multitudes of certificates and awards
  • have their water ionizers in hospitals and clinics and their water ionizers are used as medical devices in the home as well
  • are certified to manufacture & sell quality medical equipment
  • use safe practices in manufacturing the plates, filters, water ionizers
  • make good water ionizers.
  • have claim to lots of testamonials

It is rare that you will ever see the Enagic water ionizer in a comparison water ionizer test. Most Enagic dealers are reluctant to even want to see comparison testing. So I feel priveledged to bring these videos to you.

We tested and compared the Enagic SD 501, the Melody, the Athena, the Tyent Turbo, & the KYK Genesis 7-Plate water ionizers!

Throughout this testing there was an overall trend toward the…

Enagic not having the best quality of drinking water, but having a better ability to get the highest/lowest pH for non-drinking water [used for cleaning].

*See below for a good explanation of how the best quality of drinking water  for water ionizers is determined.

I couldn’t test them all at once, so I split the testing up into two groups of three water ionizers. Each group was focused on testing two water ionizers against the Enagic [since I don't often get a chance to test the Enagic, I wanted to make sure all four of my water ionizers had a chance to be tested with the Enagic].

Group 1: The Enagic water ionizer, the Tyent Turbo water ionizer and the KYK water ionizer.
Group 2: The Enagic water ionizer, the Athena water ionizer, and the Melody water ionizer.

I’ve highlighted in red the winning water ionizer score from each group of tests. Please note: You can’t very well compare a water ionizer from group 1 to group 2, unfortunately, because of too many variables, but if you look at the Enagic as the focal point you can get an idea of how they compare.

As the testing went on, the Enagic would not accept slow flow rates and the voice would tell us to increase the flow rate. We increased it for the three we were testing at the time. You can see that flow rate makes a big difference in the outcome of the testing, and because of that we really can’t compare the ionizers using one flow rate with the ones using another. This is a good example of how tricky this testing is!

In this group of tests the Tyent wins for best rH in Group 1 and the Athena wins for Group 2’s best rH at drinking water Level 2

[Reference to video, above] How did you like that container I showed you at the end of that last video? I think I might start selling those on my website…they’re so cool!

If you have ever heard that Enagic, Kangen Water, stores better or longer than the other ionized water, I’d say this video debunks that.

Note: These water ionizer comparison tests were conducted in St. Peters, MO, which has a tap water which is 8.46 pH and +195 ORP
*The rH of a solution is based on a formula applied to the pH and ORP to arrive at the relation between the level of ORP to the level of pH. It is the best measure of the healthiness of that ionized water. I always consider the rH to be the most important measure to look at in any water ionizer comparison test.

  • Here’s an example: if you have two water ionizers producing water at a pH of 9.5, and one has an ORP of -300 and the other has an ORP of -400, then the one with -400 is producing water at a healthier overall quality. Most people testing water ionizers don’t get the exact same pH readings for all the water ionizers tested. So the rH formula is necessary to really see which water ionizer is producing the healthier water. The formula is a very simple one, and anyone comparing water ionizers should look at the rH of the water at the drinking water levels if they are trying to figure out which water ionizer is best. Because ORP is a very tricky measure to get and ORP meters can vary from test to test [depending on how well or frequently they're cleaned, source water and other factors] it’s important to only compare the ORP or rH of water ionizers tested in one setting by the same tester. RH is measured on a scale of 0 to 42, with 0 being the healthiest and 42 the unhealthiest. Tap water in St. Louis is usually around 30 – 35 rH. Any water under 28 rH is considered “reducing” and so is healthy for you.
  • “The relative hydrogen scale was first proposed by Clark in 1923 to the scientific community (mostly inorganic chemists) as a means of measuring the true reducing power of hydrogen present in an aqueous solution…”* Go to this website to see this article and get a more thorough and scientific explanation of rH: http://h-minus-ion.vpinf.com/rH-score-1.html

Will the Melody and Tyent 7070 Water Ionizers Overheat after 10 Continuous Minutes of Producing Ionized Water?

I heard yesterday that some Enagic dealers were claiming that the Enagic LeveLuk SD 501 water ionizer was the only water ionizer that could pour ionized water continuously for over 10 minutes, non-stop. So this morning I tested this theory on the Melody and Tyent 7070 water ionizers [which I happened to have both right now hooked up to my sink [for other testing].

I had the two water ionizers flowing water for about 2 minutes prior to starting the video [while I was regulating their flow rates. Then I poured some samples of ionized water from each water ionizer to test...all before starting the video. So just add two minutes to the time of how long these water ionizers were continuously pouring water. Where I had to split the videos [in order to comply with You Tube's maximum video length guidelines] I overlapped the videos, so you can re-watch part of the video before the split on the part 2 video [so you see it was continuous.] The point is I’m trying to show some proof…so you don’t have to rely on trust entirely.

Here are the videos:

The results are:

  • The Melody and Tyent 7070 water ionizers were neck & neck in the pH/ORP/rH testing of the ionized water produced throughout the 12+ minutes of pouring;
  • The Tyent 7070 water ionizer slightly beat the Melody in rH for all testing done throughout. This means the Tyent’s pH was slightly less than the Melody while at the same time the Tyent’s ORP was slightly more negative than the Melody…producing a better rH. However the results were slightly different…and so I’d say they were almost the same [in the healthiness of the water].
  • The Melody continued to flow ionized water non-stop until I turned the water flow off. There was no slow-down, stop, drop in pH/ORP, overheating, or any indication of any problems at all.
  • The Tyent stopped itself and had a flashing light on the screen, however in the Tyent manual they did not state that this was for anything but to prevent accidental leaving your water ionizer on [let's say you leave it pouring and forget all about it] the water ionizer will turn itself off after about 10 min. of use. I could see no signs of overheating…it just stopped itself. When a min. later I turned it back on…it continued to give predictable ionized water at the levels it was producing earlier.

The bottom line is: this is another Enagic “story” [or I should say "lie"] that has been debunked. I don’t encourage you to all go pouring ionized water on and on, non-stop, for minutes and minutes. Why would you? But, the experiment showed it was possible to do none-the-less Hope this helps!

How do the Water Ionizer Plates Compare with Each Other and Why Would You Compare Plates?

I stated in my last post: ultimately, the pH and ORP are the only real way you can judge how great your water ionizer is. But, what do the plates [platinum coated titanium electrodes] have to do with this?

There is a lot of wonder and even confusion about the differences among water ionizers in their design, size and manufacturing processes used in making their platinum/titanium electrode plates [which some people call the "heart" of every water ionizer]. Are they all safe? Yes — the ones I sell are all safe; I’ve checked them all out. Are they all as good as each other? No. Some are better, but it truly is hard to say which is better. I see the problem. Many people are claiming that a bigger plate size or more coatings and bakings of platinum are better. the bottom line is that you WILL ultimately see how good each company’s design is when you go to test them. I honestly believe all of the plate designs are good, because these water ionizers are giving great pH and ORP. Don’t believe scare tactics that the plates are coated with platinum then cut. This is not the case. They are all cut, slotted or meshed prior to coating with platinum. They all follow safety guidelines for water filtration and ionization in other words. So, don’t worry about that.

This blog post is devoted to describing the plate design for each of the major water ionizers. I have provided pictures wherever I had them available. If I get more pics in the future, I’ll add them then. I’m not claiming that any plate design is better, though, because they all look good, and all of these particular water ionizers get good pH and ORP for healthy, healing alkaline ionized water.

Chanson: Chanson plates are made of titanium and dipped twice and then sent to an oven for three separate times. They are each time nano plated, which means the platinum is broken down into smaller particles before plated. The end product is a far denser platinum coating than many other water ionizers. Chanson claims their plates hold up very well in hard water areas. Chanson also uses a process called fritting. Fritting creates a larger surface area for greater electrolysis. This is a picture of a microscopic section of a fritted Chanson electrode plate:

Chanson Electrode Plates (Fritted)

Life: Life water ionizers have a mesh plate on each end of the row of 5 solid plates [3"x5"]. Their mesh plates have a very large surface area, without compromising the quality and strength of the titanium. In other words they’re still solid enough to last far longer than I’m sure they even need to. They are dipped and baked twice for a superior coating of a minimum .25mm thickness. Life water ionizers now have a 20-year plate warranty. Life mesh plates are pictured below as the plate above the Tyent mesh plate.

 Life and Tyent Mesh Plates

Tyent Mesh Plate

Tyent Slotted Plates Meshed

Tyent: Tyent water ionizers have huge plates, possibly the largest plate size of all other water ionizers…even Enagic. The Tyent plate is pictured above under the Life mesh plate. The plates are placed at cross angles to each other to make a mesh as in the 2nd figure. Tyent’s electrode plates are slotted, then placed in such a way that a cross mesh is created when all plates are together in the water cell. A membrane is placed between each plate for proper spacing and to ensure that the two plates do not touch for superior ionization. The titanium slotted plates are dipped and baked twice for a superior coating. Tyent water ionizers now have a 20-year plate warranty.

Jupiter: The Athena has 5 mesh plates [3"x5"], and the Melody has 5 solid plates [3"x5"] with padding placed between for superior electrolysis. The plates are electro-coated by little machine-bots spraying the plates with electronically programmed-in peaks and valleys of platinum on the pre-cut mesh or solid plates prior to baking. This gives an even greater surface area and better electrolysis than what is possible with dipping.

 Jupiter Athena Mesh Plates

KYK: KYK water ionizers are made with oversized cutting edge slotted titanium electrode plates which are dipped and baked for a superior coating.

Enagic: Enagic representatives boast of having the largest plate size of all. It seems they are mistaken, however… they do have very large plates. The plates are coated and baked properly with platinum coating. They claim the smooth plating process causes less hard water build-up of calcium attaching to the plates. That may or may not be the case, but if you get an Ionizer Armor  you shouldn’t have this problem anyway. I don’t have a pic of the plates, but am picturing the large water cell here:

Is There a Big Deal Difference Between Enagic and Other Water Ionizers?

Actually, No! The Enagic water ionizer “Kangen Water” company is real good at talking the talk, but actually, I’ve had hands-on experience with the Enagic LeveLuk SD501 water ionizer and it is simply and only a water ionizer.

I shouldn’t call Enagic “Only a water ionizer”, because it, like all the other water ionizers, is WONDERFUL! REALLY!

However, actually after having personally reviewed and done tons of tests on water ionizers…this testing of the Enagic looks to be the worst results of all….I’m sorry to say. I was so hopeful and happy and confident I was going to see great results too. What a disappointment! You can see my videos here:

Please note, when you’re watching the video, that the pH announced by the voice in the water ionizer does NOT match the pH tested. That’s because the Enagic is not really telling you a correct pH…it’s an estimated pH.

That estimated pH can be way, way off from reality…as you can see.

Enagic claims that their water ionizer produces Kangen Water [a magical water that heals]. Actually it is magical and does heal…but it’s because it is ionized water. The term “Kangen Water” is a coined and trademarked term which is all part of the Enagic’s marketing strategy to set themselves apart from the other water ionizers. But…

I think Enagic is making a big mistake by setting themselves apart from other water ionizers.

As people realize what ionized water is, and how beneficial it is, and how similar it is to ionized water from the KYK, Tyent, Life, Melody, Athena, and Chanson water ionizers…I think they may feel a little betrayed. After all, they are an MLM company, and I see people every day who are suspicious of this. Rightfully so.

Here’s the Worst thing about The Enagic Water Ionizer Company: They Don’t Offer a Satisfaction Guarantee!

That is very suspicious to me. It just really smells of being afraid to have people buy their Enagic LeveLuk SD501 water ionizer, test it for pH and ORP and promptly return it because it is inferior to the other water ionizers after all. And, I’m not too sure their fear isn’t justified.

The Enagic company makes too many unfounded claims of superiority, i.e., their water ionizer is the best. They say, “You get what you pay for.” But…

In my book…with the Enagic….you are not getting as good of a product as many of the other water ionizers!

The technology the Enagic company uses for self-cleaning, for instance, is not as advanced as the Jupiter and KYK water ionizer models. The Life water ionizer company beats Enagic in their smps electronics system and their Vitamin C filter, UV Light and mesh plates. The Tyent seems equal to the Enagic, except they have better plates [because they're slotted for better electrolysis] and they have turbo [285 watt] power potential. And the Jupiter IonLife Company has an A+ BBB rating as opposed to Enagic’s B+ rating.  Also Enagic doesn’t mention how many research PHD scientists are on their research and development staff. I’m guessing they don’t come close to Jupiter’s 20 PHD scientists.

So, what’s the big deal difference between Enagic and other water ionizers?

Answer: The price.

That’s about it!

Except some of the other water ionizers are better!

Just exactly how does the Jupiter Melody Water Ionizer compare with the Enagic LeveLuk SD501?

I’ve personally tested both the Jupiter Melody water ionizer and the Enagic water ionizer and found that in many ways the Melody water ionizer [at about 1/3 the price of the Enagic water ionizer] was superior to the Enagic water ionizer. How is this possible? The Enagic people boast so much about being the best, and how is it possible that they really only compare averagely? Here’s an observation I’ve made:

Enagic water ionizer sellers are not showing you their tests!

Is that because the Enagic LeveLuk SD501 doesn’t test better? That’s exactly why. Of course they say they test better. How would they get those high prices if they didn’t? But the fact is, that the only testing I have seen of the Enagic [and I've looked high and low for every water ionizer test on the internet] is by independent non-biased sellers (like myself) or distributors from other companies. And the Enagic has never performed better than the other water ionizers in any of those tests!

I’m going to show you my own tests of both the Melody water ionizer and the Enagic water ionizer (in videos below) and the complete comparison between the two water ionizers in this comprehensive water ionizer comparison chart.

Some of the things I like better about my Melody water ionizer are:

  • The self-cleaning design of the Melody water ionizer makes the water ionizer plate-cleaning within the water-cell automatic –after you turn off the water ionizer, rather than interrupting the water ionization process
  • The polarity of the water ionization plates shifts after each use, so you never get calcium build-up [which can be the biggest trouble down the line with any water ionizer investment].
  • The Melody water ionizer isn’t a new design and it’s been tried-and-true for many years. As far as water ionizers go, this is not a light statement to make.
  • The price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s a video I did 2 months ago where I tested the flow rates of the Melody water ionizer. This is a good sample video to show how great the ionized water quality consistently is in my Melody water ionizer.

I also did complete testing of the Enagic LeveLuk SD501 water ionizer at about the same time, and you can see in these 2 videos that the Enagic water ionizer does not produce as good ionized water quality as the Melody water ionizer. I’d say according to my tests today, that the Enagic water ionizer [at a price of $3,800.00] produces the equivalent level of water ionization quality as the new Venus water ionizer though. This is not to put down the ionized water produced by the Enagic water ionizer! I love the quality of water the Enagic water ionizer produces! And I think it’s a pretty machine too. I also love the water quality produced by the Venus water ionizer and the Melody water ionizer. Here are the Enagic water ionizer videos:

If you’re looking for more comparisons between the Melody and the Enagic water ionizers, see this: http://www.alkalinewaterplus.com/melody-enagic-athena-water-ionizer-comparisons .  It’s a water ionizer comparison chart accompanied by videos that really go into depth on the Melody, Enagic, and Athena water ionizers. It shows how you have to look past just the pH and the ORP to judge the quality of a water ionizer. You have to do all that, but then take it one step further and calculate the rH (relative Hydrogen).

Also, If you’re looking for objective and scientific testing done by a laboratory of the Melody, Enagic, Tyent, Athena water ionizers, here’s the video to see:

How do both the water ionizers compare? They are both great…but one’s just a whole lot more expensive! People need to learn about water ionization for their health, because ionized water is top dog in my book [of what to do to keep your body healthy]. I think the everyday-person will be happy to know that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get this healthy, superior quality, ionized water into your body — cleansing your cells — every day of your life!

Also, with the payment plan I offer on my website, more and more people will be able to have daily access to nice, fresh, high pH and ORP, alkaline ionized water!
