A Good Explanation of the Melody and Athena Water Ionizers’ Internal Cleaning Systems is in the video, below.
I came across this video yesterday, and thought I’d share it with you. It’s over a year old, but just as applicable today as it was when it was made! It’s amazing to me how much better the Melody and Athena are than any other water ionizer for their water ionizer water cell internal cleaning systems. I’ve seen this kind of thing in action with real-live electrodes and the amazing difference this kind of internal cleaning, flow-chamber-switching system makes!
When doing water ionizer comparisons, don’t forget to look at each water ionizer’s internal cleaning system!
It is so important to clean your water ionizer’s electrode plates, that I’m surprised so few water ionizer companies are taking this point seriously enough. I’d imagine that competitive pressure will eventually force all water ionizer manufacturers to address this issue. But in the meantime, we do have the Jupiter water ionizers which have adequate cleaning of electrodes…along with adequate everything, really! It appears that KYK is also a close runner-up or equal…now with their automatic clean-as-you-use electrode cleaning system and new draining system!
Actually KYK has another feature I think beats out the Jupiter ionizers, and that’s the fact that their filters get rid of the fluoride! That’s something that all water ionizers do up to 85% or 90%, but to get more than that, you usually need to prefilter or do RO…which just adds another thing buy and attached to your line.
Chanson has an exceptional looking product that all water ionizers can use, and that’s the “Ionizer Armor“. It’s a strong magnet that puts a temporary charge on the input water, so that when the hard water passes through the water ionizer it won’t tend to stick to the insides of the plumbing and film up the plates with what is called scale build-up.
With the big deal people are making these days about making sure they purchase the water ionizer with the best pH/ORP/rH on testing, I think it will be only the next evolution for all the companies to jump in there and do what it takes to prove their cleaning systems will keep those pH/ORP & rH scores high well into the future with consistently well-cleaned plates.
Lots of testing has been done on brand-new water ionizers. I say it’s time to start testing older models …after months or even years of use! Good idea!
