Is Soda Eating You? What Can You do to Lengthen Your Life, Make Colds a Thing of the Past, Fight Off Aging and Disease and Feel More Energetic than Ever?

Just how bad is soda? According to the tests in this video and chart below, fountain Diet Pepsi is 1,000 times more acidic than neutral. Canned Diet Pepsi is 10,000 times more acidic than 7.0 pH* (neutral). That’s probably mostly due to the carbonic acid used to carbonate the soda. Soda is also full of colorants, sweetners, and other harmful additives. You know how your stomach digests your food? Answer: Acids. Well acids are all fine and good in the stomach, but they don’t belong in your blood. However, when you drink soda, the acids in it go quickly into your blood. There’s not much to digest in soda, if anything, and so it will pass through the stomach quickly and get absorbed, acids and all, right into your blood. Thus… the analogy: the soda is eating you!

So how is it that so many people get away with drinking this junk every day?

When you’re young you might seem to be getting away with living on coffee, soda and junk food in general, but you will pay a price if you continue doing it.  Or I should say continue over-doing it. A little soda mixed in with a generally healthy diet which includes lots of water (especially alkaline ionized water) will probably be alright, but watch out. You’re playing with fire!

What’s the price?

Well, even when you’re young you are paying a price even though you may not realize it. The younger you are the more your body is capable of buffering* acids, but one of the ways it buffers the acids you consume is to rob your bones and joints of calcium. Calcium is a good buffer and readily available in your joints when you’re young. The older you get the more robbing must occur to compensate for the fact that your buffering systems are wearing out. The more junk food you ate and soda you drank as a kid, the more and sooner you will suffer as an adult.

Can you turn it around?

Bottled mountain spring water and tap water are far better than soda for you. Drinking them will do you good for now, but it doesn’t look like the qualities of either of these waters can reverse the damage that you’ve done if you’ve drunk a lot of soda or eaten lots of junk foods throughout your life. The problem I can see with these are that their ORP is too high and of course the tap water is full of who knows what. The high ORP over time causes cells to oxidize [like an apple oxidizes -- or turns brown-- when it's exposed to the air for too long]. If you’re young and not worried about aging and disease and arthritis, etc., etc. you might not be concerned now with ORP. But just because you don’t see it, it doesn’t mean that damage isn’t happening. As a matter of fact many cancers may take up to 10 years before the tumor is large enough to detect.

Aging, colds, sore throats, “allergies” that come and go, wrinkles, soreness, can all be directly caused because of the free radicals in your body going unchecked.

It’s not just the things you drink that can cause acidity or contribute to free radical damage of your cells, it’s also what you eat. But that’s for another time. Right now let’s change to a more positive note. We’ve discussed the bad things about soda and the good and bad about bottled water and tap water. But we haven’t yet discussed the really good stuff, which is to say, the phenominal attributes of ionized water.

What is ionized water?

It’s water that has passed through platinum coated titanium plate electrodes and a tiny amount of electricity is added to the mix. The process splits the large clusters of 13 molecules or more and creates micro-clusters of water molecules. About 1/3 of the clusters are acidic and the other 2/3 are alkaline. The acidic water passes out a hose at the bottom of the machine while the alkaline water passes out the top spout.

A customer asked me a couple of months ago, “Aren’t the smaller clusters un-natural?” The answer is NO. If you go up into the mountains to get your mountain spring water fresh from the stream, it will be found to be in smaller clusters. But by the time it makes its way to the valley it’s picked up more acids and the cluster size grows. Then by the time it’s treated and stored…and who knows what…the cluster size grows even further.

So the water ionizer filters the water, makes it “wetter” because smaller clusters can more easily enter cells, and also makes it more alkaline so that you can get all the buffer you need to fight off those bad acid wastes by drinking ionized water every day. Finally it raises the ORP of the water. This is what enables your body to fight off the free radicals which cause cell mutations, cancers, disease, aging, wrinkles, and so on.

So can you do something to reverse the damage?…to turn things around?

I say, “Yep!” Get a water ionizer and use it! To me there is no comparison. Long life, health, vitality, longer-lasting beauty, are all worth so much more to me than the measily 50¢ per day it costs [when you break it all down] to own my very own ionizer. I wouldn’t go without one even if it cost $10.00 per day! It’s worth it. But thank goodness it doesn’t.

* pH stands for potential Hydrogen, and a high potential Hydrogen is found in alkalines, and a low potential Hydrogen is found in  acids. The pH scale spans from 1 to 14, with 1 being a theoretical maximum acidity and 14 being a maximum alkalinity. The scale is logarithmic, meaning that to go from one number to the next on the scale represents 10 times the former. Example: a pH of 5.0 is 10 times more acidic than 6 on the scale and so on.

* Buffering is bringing the pH back to neutral range. The body will die if the blood pH goes too high or too low, so this buffering is a protective mechanism the body does to keep the blood in the neutral range. If you don’t provide sufficient buffers through your diet, the body will rob bones and joints to grab the necessary buffers it needs. It’s a survival necessity at that point. Arthritis & Osteoporosis are after all better than death.

Frequently Asked Questions about Water Ionizers:

Q How could you be sure your water supply is not too hard or just the opposite does not have enough minerals in it? I’m fairly sure these water ionizer’s do not have a way of telling you that the water your providing for it to be ionized isn’t good enough,

A You can send purchase a water test kit [under $25.] or call about it at least before you buy. Then if you have soft water, make sure you get a machine that allows you to add minerals [like Enagic and Jupiter/Emcho Tech]. Also, after the fact, if you don’t get a good pH level after ionizing, you know you need more minerals added to the water. It is the minerals which carry the electrical charge that produces the alterations found in ionized water. Water that has little or no minerals, such as reverse osmosis or distilled water has no pathway for the electrolysis or “ionization” to occur. You can purchase a remineralizer kit for $85.00. Also, in either case, make sure you check out the self-cleaning systems in the ionizer you buy. If you have hard water and an insufficient cleaning system, you’ll end up getting scaling on your plates, which will lower your machine’’s effectiveness over time. All machines I offer on my site have self-cleaning cycles, and some are now obtaining “cleaning cartridges” to use every 6 or so months to make sure there’s no unchecked scaling on those beautiful platinum-coated titanium plates. In addition to this, the Ionizer Armor [magnet] can help stop calcium build-up inside your entire water ionizer.

Q I have never had the opportunity to drink alkaline water. Which brand/model makes the best water? I know Enagic makes good water, AND is one of the most expensive.

A I’ve only personally tried four of the brands of ionizers, and I liked them all! I’m sure I would like all of the ionizers I sell on my site, because I work hard to sift out only the best. The proof of which is the best, is to look at the test results of the healthiness of the water. Everybody’s got their hype about why they think they sell the best, but the bottom line is…which one produces the healthiest water? You’re invited to stop-by my “Water Ionizers Compared” page. I’ve sought out and add objective test results [and videos] to the page and I’ve analyzed the tests and ranked the ionizers according to what I think is Good, Better and Best.

Q. How do I become a water ionizer distributor?

A. That question has as many answers as there are people. It can be as easy as getting yourself some business cards, choosing your favorite machine or brand to start with and just going out and meeting people and talking about it. Or you can make it hard for yourself and set up your own storefront or webstore. Either way if it’s something you can see yourself as being passionate about, I’m sure you’ll do well. I invite you to set up a tele-conference with me. We can work out the details to suit you and your dreams. I have an affiliate program with big commissions [15%]! Imagine the fish that live in this beautiful pool of water. They are happy and healthy, because they are living in a healthy pool of water that’s constantly being cleaned and refreshed. Now think of the cells in your body. Your body is over 70% water. That literally means your cells are being bathed in water. If you drink nice, filtered, fresh alkaline ionized water every day, it’s like giving your cells the healthy advantage that the fish that live in this pool of water have. If you’ve ever cared for fish in a fish tank or bowl, you’ll know how sensitive the fish are to unclean, chlorinated water that’s not at the right pH. The fish are so sensitive to the right water that

they’ll die if you put or keep them in the wrong water.

Your cells are sensitive too, and the way we see the cell reaction to the wrong water is through sickness, allergies, disease, wrinkles, arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis, failing organs, and so on. Now on top of that add junk-food diets, filled with coffee, soda, etc. What do you think happens to your cells?

How can a water ionizer change all that? It provides your cells with cleaner, wetter, antioxidant-rich, mineral-rich, alkaline water. Alkaline ionized water is the only kind of water that can actually reverse the fast-aging and disease-ridden spiral of people who suffer from acidic bodies [which is almost everyone in the USA].  It’s not a matter of “Can you afford an alkaline water ionizer?”, it’s a matter of “Can you afford not to have one?” The doctor bills, the unhappiness that comes with sickness and dying cells crying out for clean, healthy water to live in, and the cost of other bottled waters and soft drinks that are not right for your body are all coming to you at a price. So, make the smart and economical choice and keep your cells happy, clean and well-nourished with alkaline ionized water.

Alkaline Ionized Water Verses the Hydrogen Stick

Jan 21 · by Cathleen LoGrasso

I poured ionized water from a Jupiter Melody water ionizer into one glass container one day ago and at the same time poured tap water in another glass container and in it put a Hydrogen Stick. Now, one day later I’m demonstrating the testing of the water in both containers. The ionized water tested originally at 11 pH and -245 ORP and now one day later tests at 10.61 pH and -225 ORP. The tap water originally tested at 10.1 pH and +145 ORP and now after a full day of soaking with the Hydrogen stick it is testing at 10.25 pH and -77 ORP. The conclusion is that the Hydrogen stick does work a little to add Hydrogen to the water, but it must be soaked for a long time [such as a full day] to get a nice -77 ORP. Whereas the ionized water from a reputable ionizer, such as the Jupiter Melody can produce fantastic -245 ORP water (instant results over 3 times better than the Hydrogen Stick which soaked for a full day). The conclusion is that there is no comparison.

The benefits of the alkaline ionized water is too far superior to the Hydrogen Stick to even compare.

I tested coffee for its acidity using her pH meter. I made the coffee using my alkaline ionized water from my Melody water ionizer. The water coming out of this ionizer is nicely alkaline at a pH of 11. Will the coffee be acidic or alkaline? You’re invited to watch this quick and easy video and see what you can find out.

As you can see, despite the fact that the water was so highly alkaline to begin with, the fact of dripping it through the coffee pot to make coffee changed it and made it over 10,000 times more acidic! Here’s to learning something new every day!

So, if you were wondering how much coffee could you safely drink in a day, here’s my advice: Without a water ionizer, drink none! With your own water ionizer, and if you drink about 3/4 gallon or more ionized water daily, I think it’s safe to drink a 16 oz. cup of coffee daily. I do. But not without an ionizer!

Can You Store Your Ionized Water? If so, for How Long and In What Kind of Bottle?

People bring their ionized water to work or school with them all the time. They store it in plastic bottles usually. Which makes sense, because who wants to deal with glass…which breaks. I did some testing of water stored in a glass bottle verses plastic. You can see on the two videos that I tested two different types of plastic bottle and a plastic cup (with a straw hole). I tested it after 4 1/2 hours and again after 24 hours. So make a guess, which will be the winner? And, how much difference, if any, is found in the pH and ORP of the water in different containers?

Testing Soda, Bottled Spring Water, Tap Water and Alkaline Ionized Water

Buffering is the act of bringing the pH back to neutral range. Soda takes away your buffers — uses them up, because soda is extremely acidic. Ionized water, on the other hand, gives you extra buffers that your body needs to maintain pH balance inside your body & health.

Here I am demonstrating the pH* and ORP* of fountain soda (Diet Pepsi), canned soda (Diet Pepsi), Natural Spring Water (bottled), tap water (St. Louis) and ionized water using a Jupiter Melody water ionizer. This video was longer than 10 minutes, so is split into two parts. The results can be viewed in the video and also on the chart below.

See the Chart Below to View the Test Results Based on These Videos

Just how bad is soda? According to the tests in this video and chart below, fountain Diet Pepsi is 1,000 times more acidic than neutral. Canned Diet Pepsi is 10,000 times more acidic than 7.0 pH* (neutral). That’s probably mostly due to the carbonic acid used to carbonate the soda. *pH means potential Hydrogen and is measured by a logarithmic [each unit is a multiple of 10 of the preceding unit] scale from 1 to 14. When a substance is below 7 on the scale it is said to be acidic. When it’s above 7 it’s said to be alkaline. The blood is around 7.35 and must stay in a very narrow range of slight alkalinity in order to sustain life.
*ORP means Oxygen Reduction Potential. It basically stands for the proportionate amount of negatively charged Hydrogen ions [H-] existing in a substance. The easiest way to look at is …it’s the anti-oxidant effect that that substance is cabable of giving your body when you drink it.

Is there a way for you to breeze through the charts comparing water ionizers and clearly see which ionizer is the right one for you?

Yes, now for the first time ever, there is! I remember when I bought my first water ionizer (ionizers are machines that filter and reduce the water to the healthiest state for your body to accept it and for it to hydrate your body), everything seemed so simple. That was 16 years ago, by the way. There was one company that lead the market in ionizer sales in the US, and that was it. One choice. Easy.*

Today, though, there are several reputable U.S. companies all tooting their horns about why their machine designs & gadgets make the best alkaline ionized healthy water for you. How can you sift through all this confusion?

If you are sold on the concept of owning your own water ionizer, but confused about which machine you should buy, you are not alone.

Actually, with as much as I know about water ionizers, water ionization, pH (the pH shows if the liquid is in the acid range or not…the acid range is unhealthy), ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential: the antioxidant potential of the water or liquid…how well does it keep your cells alive), body acidity vs alkalinity (a person’s body can actually become acidic…and invite illnesses to take over), water-for-your-health, etc., it took me 6 months to finally figure out a magical formula of how to really, really be sure I was buying the best choice of water ionizer for me.

Please bear with me here, I will reveal this secret very soon.

I could see that all the good companies were tooting their horns (and rightfully so — they have great products). I didn’t want to just blindly pick one that I thought would be the best, or someone else told me was the best…I wanted to be sure. I also got many calls from customers who, like me, couldn’t make up their minds. If I couldn’t make up my own mind, how could I help them make up theirs? And, anyway, what I think is best is a personal decision, and I couldn’t and shouldn’t really make that decision for you. So I knew I had to dig deeper to find a scientific formula or something like that, that would help me unravel this mess…and so help me help you to unravel it.

Then I found it!

I was studying and studying how to determine the “healthiness level” (so-to-speak) of the ionized water. Of course a high (alkaline) pH was needed. ORP is another very important factor. The kind of filter….the cleaning system…the plate design…the price…the look of it…the company…the warrantee. My head is spinning just thinking about it!

But all of this lead back to one thing…

…the healthiness of the water. Which machine was going to give me the healthiest water? Also, I had to consider my budget, so if two machines were really close in quality of water, and one was a thousand or so dollars less than the other, I’d personally lean toward purchasing the less expensive one.

Then I came across the term “rH”.

It was a term used by the real top-dog gurus of the alkaline water ionizer industry, but I either hadn’t heard it before or just didn’t tune into it. So I looked it up in Wikipedia. Here’s what it means:

rH is “relative Hydrogen”. This test calculation shows the actual health benefits of the water tested. Many now believe that this is the most important factor contributing to good health.  Note: To find rH one uses pH and ORP measurements plugged into a formula. The formula is:  rH = ((ORP + 200) / 30) + (2 * pH). On a scale from 0 to 42 above 28 is oxidizing (higher potential to damage the closer it gets to 40) and below 28 is reducing (anti-oxidizing)…the lower the better. [Using this formula is easy; take a second to figure this out. Here's a simple example: Water with a pH of 10 and an ORP of -100...First take the -100 and add 200....that equals +100; then divide that by 30 = 3.33; then add 2 times the pH of 10 (or +20) and you end up with an rH of 23.33]. The formula puts the pH and ORP into perspective and gives you a real number you can use to compare water from one machine with different flow rates, or several machines, or water in different cities, or any liquid at all!

Hey! I was amazed! The need for a formula made sense to me. I could easily see that when you tested two different waters, and one had a higher pH, the one with the higher pH usually also had a higher ORP…but not always. That made me kind of wonder about the “test results” I was seeing and just how valid they were. You could artificially pump one ionizer’s ORP score up by using a higher pH level than the other machine. And you could get that higher pH level by slowing down your water flow through the machine.

Could I use this formula to get a more accurate picture of test results that were already out there?

Yes, I could. I looked at the formula. It involved 3 things (all of which I knew how to do): addition, multiplication, and division. So I realized that I could take my handy-dandy calculator and ….voila! …analyze the water I was testing (or anyone tested) in a new way.

So I started telling people about rH, but not too many people listened.

Then I realized there was a missing piece here. I understood so much about this subject, because I have literally been delving in it for the past 6 months. But most people don’t understand the subject well enough to even know what questions to ask when reading through water ionizer comparison charts. So they turn it off or ask for advice from someone they trust, or go-with-their-gut, or just put on the blinders and jump in head first & worry about it later.

So, here’s what I did for you.

I put everything together [comparing the top-name ionizers] all on one chart. Then I made a video of it, going step-by-step through the chart…explaining each thing as I went.  You can see the chart and videos on my website and get all your confusions resolved.

http://www.alkalinewaterplus.com

When done, if you have any questions, I invite you to call me or email me. The number and email address are on my website.

Do I have an agenda? Do I have a particular machine I’m steering you to?

No! It makes no difference to me. I sell all the good ones, and am always on the look-out for good ones I might have missed…so I can sell them too. Of course I like for you to buy your machine, whichever one you choose, from me. But that’s not why I’m sharing this information with you. I’m just one of those rare birds that likes to help people. So get on the site and have fun with it! I tell you it is a weight lifted from me to get these confusions resolved!

And I know it will be a weight lifted from you too!

It feels good to get twisty, knotty, tangly confusions unwound.

*When I bought my first water ionizer, I have to tell you that I thought that the price tag for that machine was surprizingly high [$1,100.00 and for back then...that was high]. But then I found out why the high price…the expensive platinum coated titanium plates, plus the costs of top-level scientists working day-by-day in their Research & Development Departments, the careful attentiveness to high quality and so on…so I hope that helps you understand why these are not cheap machines.

Answer: There are basically five reasons why you should drink alkaline ionized water rather than regular or bottled water:

1. Our bodies are acidic. Acid wastes from our cells, tissues and organs can’t be released into the blood and make their way out of the body unless our body has enough alkaline in it to create a neutral balance. With most people, many wastes sit in the cells for long periods or forever waiting to be eliminated. The longer acid wastes stay in the cells the greater the chances of diseases or mutations (cancers). Research shows that diseases thrive in an acid environment. The modern fast-food diets we eat, sodas we drink, and stressful lifestyles we live only make that acid environment inside our bodies worse over time. To combat this, drinking alkaline water helps to buffer this acidity and neutralize our bodies, allowing our cells to be cleansed…leading to a longer, healthier life potential and more energy on a daily basis. An interesting study was conducted by Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Alexis Carrell. Carrel did an experiment to keep cells from a chicken heart alive and healthy, reproducing new healthy cells, for 28 years [and all signs showed they could have lived on and on forever]! Chickens only live 3 years! This study proves that in the right environment cells do not “age” or become diseased. The bottom line of this research was…our cells need to be cleaned and stay cleaned [daily]. The only way to do that is to drink plenty of alkaline ionized water daily.

2. Good alkaline water ionizers use high quality filters, and you can also purchase extra pre-filters, which remove harmful substances from the water (such as chlorine and lead) and allow the good minerals (such as calcium) to pass through, so you can get the highest quality of ingredients in the water you drink – and without the bad stuff.

3. Have you ever heard of “making water wetter”? Most water clusters itself in groups of 11 – 16 molecules stuck together. These clusters are so large that it’s hard to actually penetrate through cell membranes. The process of ionizing the water splits the water into smaller clusters of 5-8 molecules and so making it easier to get the water into your cells.

4. Good water ionizers create water that is not only alkaline (to help buffer our bodies’ acidity), but also has a high “Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)”, as measured by an ORP meter. You’re probably more familiar with the expression “anti-oxidant”. Alkaline ionized water’s ability to act as an anti-oxidant in your body is much, much greater than regular or bottled water. As a matter of fact, research shows that bottled water is bad for you. Regular tap water, normally filtered tap water and bottled water have high oxidation potentials. That means … high potential to oxidize and damage your cells. This is the opposite of ORP. The ionization process reverses the oxidation potential of tap water and creates as much as -200 or -300 ORP, which is a high strength of antioxidant potential. Antioxidants are needed to keep our cells from oxidizing and mutating. When they mutate you see this as the body’s aging process. Severe mutations you see as cancer.

5. Alkaline ionized water using a good quality machine is cheaper than both bottled and regular water! Divide the cost of the machine (let’s say you get a machine that costs $1,800.00) by 365 days and again by 5 years (the warranty period of a good water ionizer). That is less than $1.00 per day to create all the alkaline ionized water you and your family can drink per day. Given the fact that most machines last for over 10 or even 20 years without needing repairs, it follows that your cost of water will probably be less than even 50 cents per day to drink as much water as you like. Not only that, but an even more compelling reason I say alkaline ionized water is cheaper than regular water from the tap or bottled water is because of all the preventative health benefits. Remember that old saying: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?” That’s what I mean by real savings!!! Look at all the doctor bills you save when you simply don’t get sick.

Which Ionizer Should I Buy?

Jan 04 · by Cathleen LoGrasso

Q  Which Ionizer Should I Buy?

A  I have struggled with this question in the past, and have done several things to help me answer this.

1. I gathered up all the research I could find on the various ionizers for sale.

2. I did my own tests and calculations and added these into the mix.

3. I constructed a comparison chart analyzing what are right now the best choices available.

4. Based on the comparisons, I looked at quality and price to help me help you figure out the most “bang for your buck” so-to-speak.

5. I recorded videos to go along with the chart, so you can get everything explained as you go.

I invite to follow this link to my  Water Ionizer Comparison Chart [Note: It was too large to fit into the format of my BLOG, so I linked to it]; then sit back and watch the videos while reading the chart. Now see if you can’t advance your knowledge of water ionizers by about 6 months in a matter of 30 minutes. My explanations, results and further comments are all posted on that page.

If this all looks Greek to you, then go to my home page of my website, and read that page top to bottom. That page alone will give you the right starting point and guidance in advancing yourself to the point of understanding the basics of why ionizing your water is so important for your health.
